Speedy deletion nomination of Dark oxygen

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dark oxygen requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.   Hello Arwenz! Your additions to Agama Yoga have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. Proposed deletion of Lindbäcks

edit

The article Lindbäcks has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No indication found it meets N:ORG

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating copyright policy by copying text or images into Wikipedia from another source without evidence of permission. Please take this opportunity to ensure that you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to use non-free content.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Star Mississippi 02:14, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I acted in good faith. I like to edit Wikipedia. I understood why I was blocked. I won't do this again. I will put all information in my own words. I thought that copying a single phrase from a newspaper is not a problem. I haven't been warned for this before so I think blocking me indefinitely is excessive and way too harsh. Arwenz (talk) 16:12, 24 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

In order to lift the block, we need to be certain that you understand how copyright works on Wikipedia. To allow the reviewing administrator to assess your understanding, please respond to the following questions in your next unblock appeal, explaining in your own words:

  • What is copyright?
  • How is Wikipedia licenced?
  • Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia?
  • Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content?
  • How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future?

Your answers will enable us to establish whether or not you should be unblocked. Yamla (talk) 14:23, 25 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

BLAR of Gery Shalon

edit

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you created or have recently made significant changes to, Gery Shalon, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for pages, so it has been blanked and redirected to 2014 JPMorgan Chase data breach. Three typical reasons for this are that: (1) the article's subject appears to fail our notability guidelines; (2) the article is unsourced; or (3) the sources used in the article are unreliable. The page's history is preserved and it is possible to restore the article: If you believe that this page should remain included on Wikipedia or that this action was taken in error, then you may revert the edit that blanked and redirected the page.

Sunflower Association website

edit

Hello - on my talk page, you said: "regarding your revert at Sunflower oil based on an essay WP:SCIRS which is an essay, not a policy. Sunflower oil is a food ingredient, not a medical or biology topic. I do not understand what do you mean. Please explain to me: I am only allowed to use scientific journals as references? From now on I am not allowed to reference newspapers or respected national associations?"

This is a commercial and promotional website, which does not represent a neutral assessment of sunflower and its derived products (the word amazing is a peacock term, WP:PEA). It would be suitable to have it as an external link, as done for many commercial memberships on Wikipedia.

Whether for history, commercial products or uses, WP:RS guides editors to choose objective, peer-assessed reviews, if available. Zefr (talk) 22:26, 3 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Zefr - After you deleted my contribution, you noticed that in the article there are many places where the cited source is exactly from the same site that you said is not a reliable source, but "a commercial and promotional website which does not represent a neutral assessment of sunflower and its derived products". And instead of reposting my contribution, you considered it more appropriate to replace the cited source with a more reliable one, but without doing the same with my contribution. At this moment the article "sunflower oil" still contain references to the website you dislike. I had to face discriminatory treatment at work and I still have it, but Wikipedia is the last place in the world where I could have thought that I would be treated in this way. And I also had to tell you that my contribution, which was about a historical event, could be categorized as true or false, by no means neutral or partisan, because it did not describe any potential benefit or damage brought to the consumer by the product in question. Arwenz (talk) 14:43, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Arwenz - As a dynamic encyclopedia, Wikipedia is under constant review and revision by multiple editors. Having an edit challenged or removed is a normal part of the process, so it shouldn't be treated as a personal affront, but rather is the normal editorial pursuit of a better article.
The NSA source remaining in the article addresses the fatty acid profiles of the four possible sunflower oil products. There may be no other source that provides this information in such a clear comparison. History of sunflower oil use is a more widely-covered topic for which numerous sources exist, and so is a topic that may be edited by others who find a clearer, more objective source.
Good luck in your editing. Zefr (talk) 22:53, 5 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Baffle blocks moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Baffle blocks, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Shadow311 (talk) 22:32, 9 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Shadow311 - I have added a little bit to the article. I am sorry but I have to disagree with you. The photos and the description are more than enough of a context for anyone unfamiliar with the subject matter to understand what is it about. Anyone can understand terms like "flood control", "irrigation systems" and descriptions like "used in flowing water to reduce its force" and make the connection between the photos and such terms and descriptions to understand what baffle blocks are used for.
Also, I believe the concept of baffle block is encyclopedic, it is a real-life building block, people can see them in rivers / dams, there are photos with it, so it is undeniably enciclopedic, with or without references, because it is a repeating part of the landscape that anyone can see, just like hills or valleys. I could only find some very limited bibliography for it and unfortunately I can't find much references. However, this is not a wiktionary term, an attribute or verb like snag, Scruffy, tepid, flog, drivel or scorn, so I believe it deserves an encyclopedic article no matter the number of references, like any other instrument used on a large scale or a repeating part of the landscape does. Deletion discussion about SugarGh0st RAT

edit

Hello Arwenz, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, SugarGh0st RAT, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/SugarGh0st RAT.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Ibjaja055}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Taxonomy templates

edit

Hi! {{Speciesbox}} (which is used instead of {{Automatic taxobox}} for species) automatically retrieves the taxonomy template of the genus, so there is no need to create specific ones at the species level. Also, extinct taxa usually have articles created for genera rather than species. Good luck! Chaotic Enby (talk · contribs) 21:50, 14 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not create duplicate pages, or news articles.

edit

While I thank you for your contributions, at the same time please do not create duplicate stubs of existing articles. Wikipedia also does not cover new events unless there is already extensive coverage. Therefore new scientific advances rarely get pages for 2-3 years, and only then if many others (more than 100 often) papers have cited the work.

Rather than creating new pages directly in main, I suggest that you use the AfC process until you understand better how Wikipedia works. That will give you more feedback. Ldm1954 (talk) 12:45, 19 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
