Because Wikipeidia is an encyclopedia, WP:SECONDARY or better WP:TERTIARY are useful guidelines. Wikipedia guides readers to digested sources of information that offer broad perspective. Why? Because we are an encyclopedia. Thousands or primary articles appear daily. In some cases citing specialized articles is unavoidable, usually for narrow topics.
