File source problem with File:Qeri arshak gafavyan.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Qeri arshak gafavyan.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:58, 30 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 03:58, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Bethlehem_tbilisi_church.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Bethlehem_tbilisi_church.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. Armenian Churches template

edit

Hi Sedrak, Thanks for adding the new churches to the Armenian Churches template. Don't you think it might be overkill to add all of those churches/monasteries in Azerbaijan and Artsakh? ...Especially considering that (1) many of them are minor churches or monasteries, and (2) most of them will not have articles any time soon, (3) by having so many in the list, we wash out the important monasteries and churches in the region (Gandzasar, Amaras, Ghazanchetsots, etc.) Best, Serouj (talk) 08:18, 9 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Difference between historical and contemporary

edit

Hi 517design, please note the difference between the Historical Armenian Churches template and the contemporary. The first one is for churches built before 1700, and the latter afterwards. The church should belong to both only if it was built before 1700 and was still in active use after 1700. This way, we'll try to keep the number of items in each template lower. Thanks, Serouj (talk) 20:23, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

What if it is built after 1700 but is currently destroyed? is considered contemporary? 517design (talk) 21:09, 22 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

This sounds more like nonsense than verdict. Please, check the talk page of Nagorno-Karabakh between me and two users. My claims are about the fact the article is about GEOGRAPHICAL REGION of Nagorno-Karabakh and needs to show data on geographical region. Yes, there must be notice about the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic located there, but with minimal description linking to Nagorno-Karabakh Republic page where all the nuances are mentioned. The intro of geographic region article may include data on the fact there is a republic there, which is unrecognized and de-facto independent. The status of its de-yure status is a very problematic issue between not only Armenians and Azerbaijanis, but also for independent lawyers and historians, so my proposal was to include the legal aspects as well as what both parties claim and demand to the republic article, but not in geographic region article. Moreover I always wait for reply from editors who I'm talking about and not revert, proposing editors to come to conclusion and later to revert finally and once. But after every my addition to talk page I got no replies, as it turned up they were not interested in modifying and improving the article and only after I revert the page, they start the discussion again. So 1. revert limitation is to be given to users Brandmaster and Golbez, rather than me, who revert very rarely. 2. Brandmaster do not go to conversation, do not read my comments and every time reply the same thing about NKR not being part of negotiations, although the issue of negotiations had already been solved long before. And not I get yellow warning for what? Trying to improve the article and sharing legal and geographic aspects of the region to different articles? Please, review the talk page. 517design (talk) 16:24, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
This is not related to the article content. I have reviewed the talk page and made the determination that your behavior is out of line. You have been edit warring, been expressing ownership of the article, breaching civility and promoting a battleground atmosphere. I stand by my decision to place you under supervision pursuant to the remedies of WP:ARBAA2. Period. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 17:34, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Really? And what else? I've been supporting international terrorism and was developing nuclear weapons in Wikipedia... Haven't you got such points in Wiki terms of use? All I wanted is to improve the article, which I've been studying the subject of for years already. I think it is useless to ask you to show exactly which of my words you think are making our discussion to battleground, so wish you good luck sincerely. It is just sad for me such a great idea like Wikipedia can be judged by such approach. It's a pity I spent my time for this. Full stop. 517design (talk) 18:40, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply
Actually, I would be more than happy to provide diffs with accompanying explanations if you like so that we can discuss them. For what it's worth, I think you're a good content contributor. I especially like the new articles on Armenian churches that you have been creating recently and have enjoyed reading every one of them. But, as you know, the Armenia topic area is a contentious one, and it takes very little for things to get out of hand. That's why I require what may seem like borderline or very little evidence when placing a user under probation. I am, though, willing to remove probation if I see a genuine positive change. Please let me know how, or if, you would like to proceed. Ioeth (talk contribs twinkle friendly) 19:00, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sir. Ioeth, Brandmeister was topic banned for 6 months because his disruptive behavior would have required just more than a 1RR restriction. It fails me, that a user like 517design who had no any block or anything would have such restriction when Brandmeister would upon his return of his topic ban engage in the same disruptive behavior for which he was topic banned, but who is not in any sort of restriction anymore. Beside his edit warring, we see such disruptive behavior as what is reported by me here under the section Repeated deletion (my comment and his reply to it particularly). This comming from a user who has years of experiences on Wikipedia and who very well know the policies and guidelines and knew the section he added lacked any encyclopedicity but added it regardless creating a revert warring. Don't you think that if such a behavior is not stopped, users like 517design would take exemple in learning to play this sort of game. I mean, what prevent a user like 517design to add crap by being civil and letting others do the reverting which would cause other users to be reported to either be blocked or be placed under such a restriction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Papabu (talkcontribs) 19:17, 27 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

While I agree with some of the points you raised, if you would like someone to look into Brandmeister's behavior since his topic ban expired, please file a request at WP:AE. Not commenting on any particular editors, but yes we see situations like what you describe in the latter half of your message happen a lot; where one bad apple drags everyone else down with them. It's not easy to defuse those scenarios, but I know what I think works based on my experience. Key things to me are to assume good faith until proven otherwise, treat all editors with respect, identify problems on a case-by-case basis and actually become involved in helping the collaborative editing process rather than just doling out sanctions and blocks. An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Dastak (Nakhichevan). We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dastak (Nakhichevan). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:04, 30 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

517Design, since you created the page perhaps ypu can clarify the connection between "Dastak" and Agulis. Meowy 15:49, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
The relation is that they both were located in Goghtn region. Dastak a bit closer to Arax, and Verin Agulis and Nerqin Agulis is a bit to north-east. You can find them both on the map of Nakhichevan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Nakhichevan_Armenian_Churches_and_other_sites.svg 517design (talk) 07:34, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

File permission problem with File:Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.   Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article PanARMENIAN Photo, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Speedy deletion nomination of PanARMENIAN Photo

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on PanARMENIAN Photo, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. VQuakr (talk) 08:11, 7 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Replaceable fair use File:Armen sargsyan armenian ambassador to china.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Armen sargsyan armenian ambassador to china.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone.

Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. 07:15, 14 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Block and ban

edit
To enforce an arbitration decision,

you have been blocked from editing for 10 days. You are welcome to make useful contributions once the block expires. If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing arbitration enforcement blocks and then appeal your block using the instructions there. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 23:03, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Reminder to administrators: In March 2010, ArbCom adopted a procedure prohibiting all administrators "from reversing or overturning (explicitly or in substance) any action taken by another administrator pursuant to the terms of an active arbitration remedy, and explicitly noted as being taken to enforce said remedy, except: (a) with the written authorization of the Committee, or (b) following a clear, substantial, and active consensus of uninvolved editors at a community discussion noticeboard (such as WP:AN or WP:ANI). If consensus in such discussions is hard to judge or unclear, the parties should submit a request for clarification on the proper page." Administrators who reverse an arbitration enforcement block, such as this one, without clear authorisation will be summarily desysopped.

The following sanction now applies to you (in accordance with the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions):

You were previously restricted to 1RR and supervised editing/civility supervision. You are now furthermore banned from the Armenia-Azerbaijan topic area for a year from the time this is posted.

You have been sanctioned per this Arbitration Enforcement request.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at WP:ARBAA2#Final decision. This sanction has been recorded on the log of sanctions for that decision. If the sanction includes a topic ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions#Appeal. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal. If you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. -- DQ (ʞlɐʇ) 23:03, 15 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Agree. Article is too raw. I'll fill it with content and links before the 7 days expire. 517design (talk) 16:37, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Tigran Sargsyan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Beeline. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Vratsyan.jpeg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. File permission problem with File:Avetik.jpeg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Avetik.jpeg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 08:44, 17 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for uploading File:Pirumov.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Magog the Ogre (tc) 22:35, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:57, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Armenia TV, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 4K (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hrach Muradyan moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Hrach Muradyan, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. About Leonid Telegin - translated from which Russian language Wikipedia article?

edit

Hi 517design. It would appear that this English language Wikipedia article may have been translated from a Russian language Wikipedia article, quite possible without the required {{Translated page|ru|Leonid Telegin}} interwiki attribution. Could you possibly identify which Russian language Wikipedia article this has been translated from? Pete AU aka --Shirt58 (talk) 10:18, 24 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Yesterday I didn't have time to reply there is no Russian page on this, but today I see someone translated the page to Russian Wiki, probably inspired by the same documentary aired days ago I watched. I tied these two by the Languages section to the left of the page. Is there anything I should do now? Thanks in advance 517design (talk) 07:52, 25 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:Flag of Yerevan.jpg

edit

The file File:Flag of Yerevan.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, superseded by File:Flag of Yerevan.svg.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:52, 15 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
