Non-free image use
editThank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images. However, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded or added to a page, specifically 2016 Carolina Panthers season , may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading or using a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reasons, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:26, 14 October 2016 (UTC)
- Hi again IP 208.76.113.13. I see that someone using this account has once again added some uniform image files to the some 2016 NFL team articles. There are basically two types of images found in Wikipedia articles: freely licensed/public domain images and non-free content images. The primary difference between the two has to do with their respective copyright status. The use of non-free images such as File:AFCN-Uniform-CIN.PNG and File:New Cleveland Browns uniforms 2015.png is restricted on Wikipedia because each of these images is considered to be under copyright protection. Each use of a non-free image has to satisfy all 10 of the non-free content criteria listed in WP:NFCCP and even failing one of these criteria means that the file will be removed. If you wish to use these uniform files in a particular article, you need to explain how the particular use satisfies these 10 criteria. If you have any questions on how to do this or whether this can be done, please ask for assistance at WP:MCQ. If you continue to inappropriately add non-free files to articles, it is eventually going to be seen a disruptive editing and a blatant violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy and will lead to an administrator being asked to intervene. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:45, 20 October 2016 (UTC)

IP208, re your edit here, if "The diagram is a commendable effort" but has an error, had you not thought of correcting it and adding a new version at File:Constitution-usa-thomas-paine.png, and/or of contacting the creator User:Mathieugp? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 21:50, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
- I just reread the relevant passage of Common Sense and the number of "57" for the members of the Continental Conference is indeed wrong. "117" is the right number, that is: (13 * 2) (13 * 2) (13 * 5). For some reason, I had counted only "5" instead of "13 * 5". I will make the correction on the diagram and reintroduce it in the article after. Mathieugp (talk) 21:58, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
- It is done. :-) Mathieugp (talk) 22:17, 27 August 2022 (UTC)
