Hello Carder

edit

Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia that anyone can edit - try using the search box to the left and put in an esoteric topic. As an example, you think the Encyclopedia would normally have an article on Omaha?

As for me, I've gone back to my non-winning ways, so I'm taking a break from poker until after the first of the year. Hope the holidays find you well...

UT Austin userbox

edit

WRT to the userbox you created, I noticed that it is peculiarly similar to {{user longhorn}}. This userbox already has some users and it's redundant to have two. I have commented on it on the Talk:UT Austin page. -Scm83x 09:18, 26 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

I've gone ahead and listed your template for deletion, and I've changed the userbox featured at Wikipedia:Userboxes/Schools. You likely missed the exisiting userbox because the original template wasn't listed at the previously mentioned site, which is totally understandable. I don't know if you like the existing color scheme; however, I didn't make the original userbox myself (though, if you'll look at the template's history, I re-organized the categories). Generally, when it comes to subjective changes such as colors, minor word choice, and the like, the work of the original creator should be kept. Thanks, and hook 'em! Happy holidays! (or whatever's politically correct these days!) -Rebelguys2 09:51, 26 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
My only problem with adding "at Austin" is that it makes the box 3 lines long. We could fix this by eliminating the "Hook 'em Horns!", but in my opinion, that's what makes this user template unique. Thoughts? -Scm83x 10:06, 26 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
OK, sounds good. I like the way this one looks and feels. I dunno how you like the layout/color scheme, but I think the style should be copied when making the other UT userboxes. -Scm83x 10:11, 26 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Those Userboxes

edit

Hi, 1001001. Gee, sorry about the meta-templates on the userboxes I created. And I knew about the no-meta-templates policy, of course. I must have been daydreaming or something. Thanks for taking care of it. Regards, Redux 16:26, 31 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Hi. I've added some refs to Kalpana (company), please let me know if that satisfies your verifiability request. -- RoySmith (talk) 04:56, 3 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

1001001 -

Thanks for fixing my user boxes, I was unaware of the no-Meta-templates policy. Had you mentioned it, I would have saved you the time you took to fix them, and learned to do it myself.

I will look through some policies and how-tos tonight, so hopefully I will recall a no-no before I unknownly go and do it.

I appriaciate you fixing them-

edit

I see that you are helping with the user boxes wikiproject, and I thought you might be able to help me. I have am using the boxtop/boxbottom combination on my user page, but when I try to add

TEA!This user drinks southern sweet tea.

or

This user loves to eat pizza.

, I get "|}" as stray text, and all the elements of my user page on in my User box thing. It seems like a glitch on the original template, because whe I search for the text "|}", I can't find it. Can you help me?whicky1978 talk 19:36, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think I found a solution to the problem. I did my boxtop/bottom combination on separte lines. BTW, is there a user box that says "this user has too many user boxes"?whicky1978 talk 04:09, 22 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Aha-hunting.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Aha-hunting.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Non-free use disputed for Image:Seaplane.jpg

edit
  This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Seaplane.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:24, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
