Lowcase Sigma bot II
Okay on the Sandbox it put in the thing that's supposed to be there when it was already there, so I undone it. It must have been an error in the program. Thanks! Gary "Roach" Sanderson (talk) 21:29, 1 August 2016 (UTC)
- That's interesting. Stepping through the same situation on my own computer, it appears to be the MediaWiki API giving false information on the (non)presence of the sandbox header template. It's out of my jurisdiction. →Σσς. (Sigma) 02:45, 2 August 2016 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 3
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Python Package Index, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page DLL. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

DYK for Python Package Index
On 17 August 2016, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Python Package Index, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the the Python Package Index is also known as the Cheese Shop, a reference to the Monty Python sketch? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Python Package Index. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Python Package Index), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Archived Heather Bresch to archive 79 (first archive)
[1] created Talk:Heather Bresch/Archive 79 in January. There is no Talk:Heather Bresch/Archive 78, no Talk:Heather Bresch/Archive 1, and indeed no index at the time of this posting - though I intend to move Archive 79 onto Archive 1 and create an index page of some sort now. At least it got the edit summary right. You should see how many other pages were affected. Wnt (talk) 16:00, 17 August 2016 (UTC)
- The bot only follows directions. It archives to the number specified in the counter parameter in the template. If any other pages were affected it's because the counter needs to be changed. →Σσς. (Sigma) 05:26, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
- OK... I found the erroneous counter=79 paste and let the person who added it know. But wouldn't it be better for the bot throw an error if there's no Archive 1 and/or no index to add the archive to? Oh, also, if your index page needs some kind of special format can you change the one I created above to make it not cause another problem? Thanks. Wnt (talk) 00:18, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
- Archive indexing is not yet in my jurisdiction. Plans to merge it into lcsb3 have stalled despite the common goals and I'm not able to give a confident ETA on when lcsb3 will do archive indexing.
- That's interesting, but since there's no actual way to determine whether a talk page is set to use date or counter-based archiving (you're actually able to do both at once), I don't think that is the best way to deal with this problem. →Σσς. (Sigma) 04:00, 23 August 2016 (UTC)
