Deletions

edit

K.M.D1994 created a page called "Frank Maresca". A proposed deletion of the article had been suggested. It was to be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

User:Plastikspork says:

Unsourced WP:BLP with no content beyond what appears on I Love New York (season2), I Love Money (season 1) and I Love Money 2. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

Later K.M.D1994 created an article called "Kendall Davis". A tag was placed on it by User:Morbidthoughts at 19:06 on May 26 2009.It was requested that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The speedy deletion nomination of the article had been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appeared to be about a person or group of people, but it did not indicate how or why the subject was important or significant.Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.On December 4, 2009 ,K.M.D1994 approached User:Plastikspork for a possible re-creation of the "Frank Maresca" page.

User:K.M.D1994 said:

Guess What? A casting call has been issued for a VH1 reality dating show starring Frank Maresca (The Entertainer). The show is tentatively entitled "The Entertainer of Love".Didn't see that comin did you. I propose that you make it up to me and help me re-create the Frank Maresca page. What do you think? User:K.M.D1994 10:34, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

User:Plastikspork replied:

Considering there is no page for Daisy de la Hoya, I would say there is no need for a page for Frank Maresca. However, there could be grounds for creating The Entertainer of Love, once there is a confirmed premiere date. See Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Entertainer_of_Love. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 16:07, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

User:K.M.D1994 replied: Well, considering there is a page for reality stars like Tiffany Pollard, I would say there is a need for a page for Frank Maresca. There should be grounds for creating The Entertainer of Love page, once there is a confirmed premiere date. Agreed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by K.M.D1994 (talk • contribs) 16:18, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

User:Plastikspork replied:

I don't agree. Tiffany Pollard has been the main subject of several reality television shows. Maresca will tentatively be the subject of one. Hence, the comparison to Daisy de la Hoya is the most appropriate. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 16:22, 4 December 2009 (UTC)

Then on December 8th, 2009 Plastikspork created a page called Frank the Entertainer... in a Basement Affair due to the premiere date of the show being announced.

User:Plastikspork said:

I restored Frank the Entertainer... in a Basement Affair, now that there is an announced premiere date. Enjoy! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 18:14, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

User:Morbidthoughts says:

You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at Kendall Davis. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you.

Hello, K.M.D1994. The information you added to the Whitney Houston article needs to be sourced, which is why it was reverted. You also need to be more careful in the way you add information to articles here, as to make sure words are not too close together and the punctuation is right.

Since you are still relatively new here to Wikipedia, I give you this list to help your editing here:

1. Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, which summarizes what belongs in Wikipedia and what does not; 2. Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, which describes Wikipedia's mandatory core approach to neutral, unbiased article-writing; 3. Wikipedia:No original research, which prohibits the use of Wikipedia to publish personal views and original research of editors and defines Wikipedia's role as an encyclopedia of existing recognized knowledge; 4. Wikipedia:Verifiability, which explains that it must be possible for readers to verify all content against credible external sources (following the guidance in the Wikipedia:Risk disclaimer that is linked-to at the bottom of every article); 5. Wikipedia:Reliable sources, which explains what factors determine whether a source is acceptable; 6. Wikipedia:Citing sources, which describes the manner of citing sources so that readers can verify content for themselves; and 7. Wikipedia:Manual of Style, which offers a style guide—in general editors tend to acquire knowledge of appropriate writing styles and detailed formatting over time.

These are often abbreviated to WP:NOT, WP:NPOV, WP:NOR, WP:V, WP:RS, WP:CITE, and WP:MOS respectively. Also, you need to always sign your comments when "talking" on Wikipedia talk pages. To sign your comments, all you have to do is type four tildes (K.M.D1994 (talk) 15:51, 3 December 2009 (UTC)) beside them.
