Geothermal plants in Turkey
editWikipedia:Graphics Lab/Map workshop/Archive/Jun 2022#Geothermal power plants in Turkey request for a way to map 62 geothermal plants in Turkey. The main objective is the make managing the data about each power plant easy to maintain. Below are three ways to accomplish this task.
Option A : Data:file.map on Commons
editHouse all of the data in a Commons Data file: Commons:Data:PowerPlant/Turkey/geothermal-operational.map. Uses the {{Maplink}} template to reference the Data:file.map.
This has the advantage that the data is centralized on Commons and can be reused across different languages.
- A.1 - Commmon parent "PowerPlant" by country
- A.2 - Sandbox 1
- A.3 - Sandbox 2
Test
editTesting an existing Data:map on Commons using points in Finland
- Update as of 2023-03-29 not rendering in my browser
Option B : Location map (whole country)
editUse {{Location map }} and {{Location map~}} to plot each point. The geolocation data is embedded into the article page.
Note, used "alt" for the name of each plant. This value is not displayed. This becomes an aid to editors to help them know which locations are shown for each lat/long.
Option C : Location map for region
editSimilar to above except using the "Turkey Aegean" region.
