Maze
edit>You are standing at the entrance to Wikipedia, ignoring the obnoxious tour guide. You walk through to find that you are in some sort of maze made out of the logo for Wikipedia. After two hours of pointless walking you stop and think where to go next.
>go South
You are in a maze of twisty passages, all alike.
>You look up and see a Jimbo Shaped Bush, beside it are some shears.Darkside2000 (talk) 13:18, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
> take ears
"Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears," you announce. Your fellow Wikipedians, being generaly obliging folk, respond by spamming your talk page with pictures of their ears. You begin to deeply regret your typo.

You are in a maze of twisted articles, all alike.
> go north
You are in a maze of twisted articles, all alike.
> go west
You are in a maze of twisted articles, all alike.
You suddenly realize the reason all these articles are so twisted is because you've stumbled across Portal:Pornography.
> Mein eyes!
You attempt to claw out your eyes. Your fingernails are dulled from your constant typing, so it doesn't work very well.
> use bleach
Use bleach with what?
> use bleach with brain
Your pour the bleach into your ear. It burns, but you feel an immediate relief. However, a few seconds later, you can't remember why, exactly, you feel relieved.
> edit amnesia
You happily wander off to go edit Amnesia, not remembering that you're in a maze, and that that's just going to get you lost again. On your way, you run into a Jimbo-shaped bush. Beside it are a pair of shears. Sophus Bie (talk) 11:27, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
>Shears!
You notice the pair of shears next to Jimbo-shaped bush, you sort of look and blank a bit at this .. not realizing what sort of bush you are looking at. You stop for a bit, and wonder "Wow, is this a leafy bush, or a george bush? Either way, it needs a trim!". While trimming you get to whistling Katy Perry songs and begin to wonder the world's politics.. and suddenly after a while you find yourself, dazed and confused.. putting the shears down you veer right going south.
>go south
You're in a maze of political articles dating back to the medieval periods of europe, most are inalike and are amassed with /b/ type lulz. Osharecurry (talk) 09:06, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
> inventory
You are carrying:
- brain bleach
- external links
- humorous user boxes
- wikilove
> drop user boxes
You decide to add levity to these boring political articles with a bit of color and wit. Within moments, however, the article reverts to normal, and a message pops up in your user talk.
> read message
What the... BLOCKED?! Someone blocked you for adding user boxes to an article?
It's signed "User:Runcorn". A suspicious name, if ever you heard of one. You just have to find this Runcorn, so you can take revenge on him/it. Palladmial (talk) 04:22, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
> go west
You gallivant off in a random direction, intent on finding "Runcorn" and making it pay. However, your navigational skills are still borked from the bleach, so you quickly become even more lost. Eventually, you come to a clearing in the thicket of articles. What you see there takes your breath away. Before you sits the legendary Oracle of Delphi Wiki! It will surely have the answers you need!
> ask the Oracle where "Runcorn" can be found
The Oracle suggests that you should search for this Runcorn character in real life. You decide to look this "real life" thing up. However, the article for real life isn't even a page long, so you decide that whatever it is, it can't be that important. In fact, you think it might not even qualify as notable. After all, you've never heard of it.
> propose real life for deletion
Your suggestion is ignored. A few minutes later, you get a message on your talk page suggesting that you take a Wikibreak. However, you know that that's a silly idea; you have to hunt down Runcorn first! You gallivant speedily away from the Oracle, forgetting completely to note how to ever find it again.
> hunt down Runcorn
You realize that to be so well hidden, Runcorn must be a formidable foe. If you want any hope of defeating him, you must first equip yourself properly! First you must go on a quest, and gain the fabled Sword of Barnstarius!
. . . At this point, you remember that you're still lost in a maze of articles. The bleach must be wearing off. Sophus Bie (talk) 03:45, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Suddenly an edit war starts at the oracle. The page is full of flame wars. It is hellishly hot.
You just manage to escape to the southwest.

You edit the helium article, not realising that you're just going to get lost again.
While you save the page, the northeast exit shifts and turns into a vast cave. Through it, you see what looks like a Wikipedia logo.
>go northeast
You're frozen.
>go west
The heat from the flaming pit melts you out.

There is some wikipedihol here.
>go northeast
You are in a nondescript central area of Wikipedia. Everywhere are discussions about edit wars on articles on topics you weren't aware could exist and discussions on whether or not to ban particular users.
The edits are conducted at an extreme pace in here, and the sight of the comments is making you ill.
>read comments
You aren't even vaguely interested in them. In fact, the sheer thought of participating any further in this fast exchange seems revolting.
It is unbearably hectic in here, and there is a pounding in your brain that won't stop. After struggling for a long while, you finally make it back in the clearing.
>get wikipedihol
Taken.
>drink wikipedihol
Done.
Your Wikipediholism increases by 15 points.
You now have a revelation on how to properly write policy, and consider going to the talk page of the manual of style to suggest a very minor change in wording that you weren't even aware changed the meaning one turn ago.
>go northeast
You are in a room filled with a transfinite amount of lucid, poetic conversation of deep philosophical and wikipediological import.
>discuss
What do you want to discuss?
>banning runcorn
You're not dicussing anything without first opening the edit window.
>open edit window
OK, the edit window is now open.
>discuss banning runcorn
You start typing what your mind consideres to be impeccably logical points on why Runcorn should be banned. After three sentences you return to sanity and realise that you have had enough. You now are feeling disgustingly sick inside.
>close edit window
You can't. Hordes of users keep drawing you in to comment and you are finding it harder and harder to resist. You still feel as though you've just taken poison.
>throw liquid helium at users
The liquid helium rises majestically into the air and evaporates instantly. This place is really hot, isn't it?
>examine users
One of the users appears to have an antidote to Wikipedihol. The bottle of antidote has an ultraviolet label.
>steal antidote
Done. You have about 5 turns before he notices and blocks you indefinitely.
>open antidote
Done.
>read label
"To use, apply antidote on head.
WARNING! Side effects unknown, but likely to be severe."
>apply antidote on head
Are you insane?
>yes
That's your problem, I guess.
You spill a tiny drop of the antidote on your head just before dumping it just behind the user you stole it from. None too soon, as it kills all your brain cells in short order.

You have:

You start wandering around, looking for some monsters to fight. After few hours of wandering, you encounter a troll painting a crude graffiti on a wall. You hit the troll with your old rusty blade. The troll is enraged by your attack, and yells: "stfu d00d u suk!". It hurts your feelings pretty badly.
YOU: 2/4 HP TROLL: 3/5 HP
Suddenly, something falls from the troll's pocket. It says <<report user to administrators>>
>Taking it before the troll does
Taken
>Examine it, while simultaneously defend yourself against the troll
Says that if you press the magic red button it has on, the troll will be reported to the admins.
>Pressing the button
Pressed
Suddenly, you are in a dark room, away from the troll. There are two exits, to the southwest and to the southeast. Te first says <<proceed>>, the second says <<cancel>>. In the second, there is a small tunnel, which seems to lead to the real exit of the maze. In the first, you cannot see a thing. You want to take the second, but suddenly you think that this troll could be Runcorn, you want to report him first!
>Entering the southwest exit
OH,NOOOOOOO! This exit was a trap! You imidietly regret that you entered this one, but you cannot do anything, you fall in the inner administrative places of wikipedia.
Suddenly, you hit the ground badly. In front of you, Jimbo stands on his throne, but now he is very angry. He says: <<With all my magic power that my honest foundation gives, i initiate an Arbitration Committee case against you!>> Some guards appear, they ban you. They inform you that this case will actually run, you will be sanctioned further. They go you to the prison, in the same cell with Fram! Eni vak (speak) 22:45, 15 August 2019 (UTC)
>start a wikipedia version of the salem witch trials
You are teleported by jimbo to the start of the maze because this whole thing was getting out of hand
>screw you guys, I'm going home
Probably just as well. With a spring in your step, you leave the maze, whistling a jaunty little march as you go. Or at least, before various members of the community appear and calmly explain that vanishing is not supposed to be used by those who lose their trust, and drag you back to the Oracle in irons for your trial, where they impose an indefinite interaction ban between you and Runcorn because you seem to get a screw loose every time he comes into the picture.
>diagnose
You are in perfect health.
You can be blocked after 1 revert, or after mentioning He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named 4 times.
>do you mean runcorn
Certainly not. If you go around saying things like that people will think you have gone round the bend.
>why not, his name is runcorn
How utterly preposterous. Do you want to be put away?
>no
I thought so. Come with me and have a vacation. If you want to get banned, there are many more noble ways to do it, and in much nicer locations. We can have a nice holiday together along the Baltic coast.
>but what about runcorn
Whoever is that and why is he important? Come with me and we will go, where the golden amber sparkles, and you can earn more noble sanctions for unhinged nationalism. The flag awaits you, and with it laurel! To arms, bold warrior of ASCII!
>but runcorn
All of a sudden three administrators with mops come in and apprehend you, where they throw you in a cell indefinitely for violating your interaction ban. Faced with the realisation that this means you are now carrying the wrong userboxes for your predicament, you jump off the slippery slope of sanity and find true happiness in building a yandere shrine for Jimbo and extracting your internal organs every night and putting them back in as penance for the suffering you put him through. In time the community votes to remove Fram from your vicinity, but you of course have other priorities than to realise this. Probably for the best, really.
*** You have gone completely bonkers ***
You have achieved a score of −99 out of 400 points. This gives you the rank of Long-Term Abuse.
>restore

Your block is then extended by another 6 months for sockpuppetry.

Outside Maze
You are standing outside a hedge maze shaped like the logo of Wikipedia.
There is a small mailbox here.
>open mailbox

mailbox: Your previous bout of mental instability is evidently still leaving some mild side effects.
>read leaflet
Oh, all right, very well. The leaflet says "Welcome to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit". Which you could have read by just going to the main page and getting out of this stupid nonsensical text-adventure fest, couldn't you? You're on Wikipedia, not a gaming website. Go and edit some articles! Reach enlightenment, will you?
>reach enlightenment
The previous words of the narrator (harrumph, myself) strike you like a bolt from the blue. You are now enlightened. (Which is at least something, considering how much I've been having to talk for the last few turns...) Flushed with the success of your enlightenment, you run headlong into the maze and start editing away at the first article you see, citing all the reliable sources you have gathered. On and on you edit, going deeper and deeper into the maze as you wiki-walk through it, and even plough through some corridors and create new articles with the information you have gathered, until somebody phases into existence in the maze and offers you a barnstar! And some helpful links! And a guide on how to be a great Wikipedia editor! And an invitation to the WikiCup! Profoundly grateful, you accept his gift and ride into the distant sunset, editing and expanding the maze as you go, with the hustle and bustle of the Wikipedia community forming itself into something utterly familiar that you can't believe you lived without, until the world seems to dissolve itself and leave nothing behind besides you and the Founder-provided supreme power of your mind that enables you to somehow have been editing Wikipedia without a browser.
The golden voice of the Founder Jimbo (yes, singular, not plural, and it has always been so, and stop asking awkward questions) echoes in your mind: "Congratulations, young master! I knew you would be successful. As a reward, take this!"
As you reach out to take it, you notice too late that it is a completed RfA nomination accepted by yourself without your knowledge, and your hand is magnetically drawn to the "Save page" button...

Village Pump Central
This bustling room is the centre of discussion on Wikipedia. Passages and threads extend in all directions. Policy booths lie to the west, technical booths to the northwest, proposal booths to the southeast, idea booths to the south, miscellaneous booths to the north, and a spiral staircase leading down is marked "TO WMF SECTION OF PUMP – COMMUNITY-MANAGED".
Far to the east is a teahouse. You notice that many of the newer editors seem to be being pointed in that direction.
>go northwest
You have arrived at a technical village pump booth.
>ask about code
One of the users is interested and begins to help you. Unfortunately, he doesn't get very far before a host of other editors run in and start asking why the interface is behaving in ways never seen before. The user you were talking to starts discussing the problem animatedly, and many others join in. Some complaints about the WMF are heard.
Suddenly, another user flings a piece of code in your direction!

The good news is that when you paste it into your common.js page (or indeed monobook.js a piacere), all the changes will melt away and everything will look like it used to. The bad news is that everyone has forgotten about the thread you actually opened.

Special:MyTalk
You have arrived at your talk page. It is now graced by a charmingly polite talk page message, enclosed in a beige box with a pink trim and accompanied by a picture of a delicious cupcake.
>examine message
Sorry, I lied. Actually it's a red octagon warning sign accompanying a sternly worded message along the lines of asking what in Gehenna you are doing.
>reply to message
How do you want to reply?
>grovel
You go to your correspondent's talk page and type out a long reply of repentance, explaining that you really didn't know what you were doing. Within a few minutes comes a riposte that you really should have known what you were doing before you tossed your hat into the ring.
You suddenly get a sinking feeling that you should probably check your RFA.
>go to RFA
RFA
The setting is nearly the same as before, except that your vote has vanished, and in the oppose section there have since appeared a dozen votes whose main gist appears to be WP:NOTNOW and WP:SNOW.
>reach enlightenment
You attempt to be philosophical about it all, and reflect that at least these opposes were completely foreseeable. This doesn't actually help much. Double sharp (talk) 13:05, 21 October 2021 (UTC)

This article resembles a quaint little village. It is creepily devoid of residents; in fact, the last edit was in April 2021.

You find an inconsistency under Toponymy:
- Michel Grosclaude indicated that Asasp is related to the basque as/aitz ("rocky point") and aspi ("Behind"), giving "under the rocky point".

Pit bull
editHey look! An article about something you recognize!

editYou are immediately inundated by templates. Unable to handle the sensory overload, you pass out.
You wake up some time later.
>check time
To your horror, you discover that thirty minutes have passed while you were unconscious. That's thirty minutes you could have spent hunting for potential edits!
>look around
You are unable to perceive the templates that had overwhelmed you before. You are about to reflect on this when you notice a thread.
Notable pit bulls
Would the notable pit bulls section work better as a bulleted list? I think so, because there is only one sentence about each dog and the last two entries especially look like they were written as if they were intended to be bullet points. Tyran the Green Dragon(rawr!) 🐉 🪙

I took a look, and it does seem it would flow better as a bulleted list. Username (talk)

This is the "pop-cult" section, and my experience is that bulleted lists tends to encourage people to add unsourced/badly sourced crap. FellowUser

You convert the Notable pit bulls section into a bulleted list.

You accidentally vandalized the page, as all of the words were listed seperately.
