The Battle of Purandar, fought in 1715 A.D., was a significant military campaign led by Nizam Ul-Mulk Asaf Jah I, also known as Chin Qlich Khan, against the Maratha forces in the region. The Maratha armies, under the command of Shahji I and Balaji Vishwanath Peshwa, were faced with the invasion of their territories, including Purandar and Poona. This clash marked a crucial moment in the power struggle between the two sides, as they vied for control over the strategic locations in the region. The outcome of the battle would have far-reaching consequences for both the Marathas and the Nizam.
