Coning is a form of protest action and civil disobedience, in which someone places a traffic cone on the hood of a Self-driving car in the way of the sensors and cameras used to navigate the streets. This exploits a fail-safe feature on many types of self-driving cars where the vehicle will stop or redirect itself around a traffic cone. When the traffic cone is placed directly on the vehicle's hood, the self-driving car will come to a complete stop and will not move, rendering the vehicle inoperable.[1]
