James Gray (23 April 1892 - 4 April 1947) was a Scottish painter.[1]
Life
editHis father was James Gray [Snr] (2 February 1856 - 4 December 1928) from Yarrow, in the Scottish Borders.
His mother was Margaret Hannah Ogle (27 December 1855 - 19 May 1923) from Berwick Upon Tweed. James [Snr] and Margaret married in Edinburgh in 1884.
James Gray was born on 23 April 1892 in Burntisland, Fife.
He married the artist Jean Lyal Christie (10 July 1899 -) from Edinburgh. They married at the Dunbarney Parish Church at the Bridge of Earn on 11 August 1926.[2]

editHe died at 23 Braid Farm Road, Edinburgh on 4 April 1947.[3]
