Kenneth Field Balmain (1 August 1890 - 5 March 1957) was a Scottish painter and photographer.[1]
Life
editHis father was James Charles Halyburton Balmain (13 November 1853 - 23 June 1937) from Pennsylvania, United States. James was a photographer.
His mother was Kate Field (21 December 1858 - 19 May 1917) from Skelmanthorpe, Yorkshire. James and Kate married on 11 February 1885 in Scissett, Yorkshire.
Kenneth was born in Newington, Edinburgh on 1 August 1890.[2]
He married Elizabeth Bell Souden (28 December 1887 - 20 April 1983) from Edinburgh. They married on 21 February 1916 in Ross-shire, Scotland. Elizabeth Ball Balmain (nee Souden) was also an artist.[3]
