Robert Payton Reid (22 October 1858 - 17 January 1945) was a Scottish painter.[1][2]

His father was John Reid (1821 - 29 October 1887), a leather skinner from Edinburgh.
His mother was Mary Brown (1819 - 1906). John and Mary married on 1 December 1852 in Edinburgh.
Robert Payton Reid was born on 22 October 1858 in Liberton, Edinburgh.[7]
He married Emily Esther Smith (1875 - 11 May 1961). They married on 1 March 1916 in Stoke Newington, London, England.
Their daughter Jean Payton Reid was Scotland's first female planning officer.[8]

editHe died on 17 January 1945 in Edinburgh. He was buried in Liberton churchyard cemetery on 19 January 1945.[9]
