John Patrick (16 January 1831 - 19 May 1923) was a Scottish painter and photographer.[1]

His father was James Patrick (20 December 1805 - 18 July 1886), from Wemyss in Fife.[3]
His mother was Christian Finlay (4 July 1803 - 13 January 1866) from Kinconquhar in Fife. James and Christian married on 25 September 1830 in Wemyss.
John Patrick was born on 16 January 1831 in Wemyss, Fife.
He married Jane Rutherford (13 December 1828 - 10 December 1901) from Scoonie in Fife. They married in Scoonie on 16 February 1852.
Their sons James Patrick (28 May 1863 - 4 September 1933) and John Rutherford Patrick (26 February 1866 - 25 October 1943) became artists.
