- It is becoming a very successful small town in recent times, with , and numerous awards being presented to vaious businesses located here, as well as the town itself.
I suggest identifying and referencing the awards to show their significance. Any town can award the only butcher the "Best Butcher Shop in Yamba" award for example. The quantity of awards is not significant without some context of what the awards are judged against.
I kept the two specifics, but references for the Tidy Towns award and 3rd best town award would be good.--Scott Davis Talk 10:15, 30 November 2005 (UTC)

editAboriginal people lived in the area for thousands of years before Matthew Flinders was anywhere near the place, so I have reworded the reference to his so-called discovery. 2006-08-10.

"Best town in Australia???"
editIt's being reported by ninemsn.com and news.com that Yamba has been voted Best town in Australia 'by a panel of tourism and travel experts,' according to a survey conducted by Australian Travel magazine. Just wondering if this is actually notable enough to warrant inclusion in it's entry? PizzaofDoom (talk) 05:02, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
