editThis article is a hairsbreadth from spam. It's one of a series that seems to have been created by a PR man working for Whitney, or more likely, Vincent, her affluent and influential father. Vincent has liberally promoted his business interests on WP, also. A WP search on "Whitney Wolanin" shows 20 hits. A WP search on "Vincent Wolanin" shows 12 hits. Wake 01:34, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
Re citations: I'd like to see who acclaims her besides her father and other paid performers and pr agencies. In addition, there are several Google hits for some variation of Top-Notch Records, and one WP page (TopNotch_Records). None seem related to Whitney. Wake 03:50, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
I am a radio programmer and Ms. Wolanin has charted a number of songs at our station. She was in the top 10 with songs at our station and on the national AC charts top 10 in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Not many artists so young or at any age can claim this feat and it is apprent that she has a long bright future as a singer/songwriter.

- A whois check on the above IP shows it came from the Sanibel Public Library; Vincent and Whitney live in Sanibel. Coincidence? Not likely. Although maybe Jerry Blavat ("The Geator") has a winter getaway condo there, or maybe he was staying in the Wolanin guest house. Precious Roy (talk) 19:48, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Well, it's been a year or so and Ms. Wolanin has had no public appearances or new releases according to her own website. Evidently she has neither a long nor bright future in this industry. Wake (talk) 17:56, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- It doesn't seem particularly likely. How long did you think her interest/daddy's financial support would last? A mediocre talent can only go so far in the biz. Precious Roy (talk) 19:48, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
- She isn't mediocre, and she isn't even talented. The fact that her horrible records are the best she and her wealthy, record exec father can produce are a testament to how profoundly untalented she really is. -69.47.186.70 (talk) 21:39, 26 July 2009 (UTC) I'd like to add a link to her new single's lyrics so all of wikipedia is free to enjoy her middle school vocabulary and rhyme scheme: http://www.whitneywolanin.com/images/lyrics/whitneywolaninsunglasses.pdf -69.47.186.70 (talk) 21:47, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Disputed content
editOwnership of TopNotch: One reference shows Vincent started TopNotch Entertainment, the other reference says "Her dad, who owns 20 companies, is now her co-producer and adviser. Her records are released on his TopNotch label." Also, on his company's website, TopNotch Entertainment Corp is listed as an "affiliate" and indicates that the name is a "wholly owned [trademark] of Wolanin Companies Ltd. or it's [sic] principals" (link).
Sales charting: The albums did not chart for sales (only for airplay) and did not win any RIAA awards. Normally that would not be of interest, but since the albums apparently received considerable airplay nationally, it's unusual that the album did not sell well, and therefore a point of interest.
If you have verifiable references from reliable sources that prove otherwise, I will allow the removal of those statements, otherwise they stay. Any removal without references to back it up will be considered vandalism. Precious Roy 10:35, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- This message is from the legal staff for TopNotch Records. The label is not owned as you have been posting and you continue to make postings that are not accurate about label ownership, despite the fact several attempts have been made to fix your errors. Magazines can make errors at times in things that are printed. The label and its distribution network around the world do not provide sales data to RIAA so in fact your pronouncements are not based on accuracy. An album for example could sell 100,000 copies and be quite successful financially and not be RIAA certified. The only ones who know that are the label, and the artist and since the label will not provide data on any of its artists to RIAA none if its artists can or will qualify for these certs. If you provide us your legal address we will be happy to write you an official legal letter informing you that what you are posting is not factual. We are hoping that by sending this message you will stop doing this voluntarily. Thanks for your cooperation. The rest of your posts are fine and hopefully we get this cleared up finally. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.40.31.38 (talk • contribs) 21:09, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- Please see your talk page for important information on legal threats (explict or implied). As I stated above, if the information in the article is incorrect, please provide verifiable references from reliable sources. Precious Roy 22:28, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
editNote that one of the many anonymous IPs editing this article has been blocked in the past for linkspamming for PrivateSky, another of Vincent Wolanin's companies (and most, if not all, of the rest only edit Whitney Wolanin and related articles). I put the tag on the talk page rather than in the article because I think I've managed to edit out all the exaggerations that were in place when I first read it. Continued conflict of interest
editI see that this page has a sustained history of promotional use by single-purpose accounts, including ForceFan2000, Cheekyminx12345, Deefile, and Attorneytec. Wikipedia is not the place to promote yourself, artists you work for, are related to, or are a fan of. Please stop undoing my legitimate edits to the page. If you wish to discuss changes to the article, please do so here on the talk page. Thanks! 72.93.239.198 (talk) 16:15, 29 June 2014 (UTC)
- Sir or Madam
- I am not sure how to address you because you are writing these edits anonymously, therefore, I am not sure who I am speaking with. If I were to venture a guess, I would peg you for one of the people on this "Talk" page that you wanted me to go to that has mentioned several times that her page is a conspiracy of sorts and that people are being asked to write stuff about her.
- Here's my background. I am a music fan. Have been my whole life. I am passionate about a few other hobbies, but when I become passionate, I get to know those topics very well. I have been following Whitney and her music for some time, and I feel that I know her story a lot better than most and am simply trying to get the CORRECT and UNBIASED facts out there. I cannot, unfortunately, say the same for you or the other people that were on that "Talk" page. I don't comment, or contribute, unless I find it absolutely necessary. I have done that with Whitney's page, as well as the another page, however the other page is going to be a serious undertaking as it needs formatting, content, and citation work all around.
- I'll admit, I was skeptical at first, and thought myself that the information was skewed, especially with her earlier works. Why else would people like you change things time after time. That is, until I did some work on my own and researched a lot of the earlier information and thats when I went to work on this page. I felt there was a gross misuse of the space as people have altered the information to be more demeaning to the person than anything else. This happens with a lot of figures in the public eye, so it did not come as a surprise. I mean Nickelback, Taylor Swift, and many more have people changing their pages constantly. Some funny, some hurtful, but all are inappropriate as they unfairly represent the person being talked about.
- You state facts that by either your own, or by another persons admission on the talk page, that are irrelevant. Points of that songs didn't register significant sales, or that her father is wealthy, are points that have no bering on Whitney or her merits as a singer/songwriter. Spins and sales are not dependent or indicative of one another. Also, so what if her father is wealthy, poor, middle class...it is all irrelevant to this topic, so whats the purpose in stating that? I take that inclusion as a statement of she only has a career because her father pays for it. It has no use here. Not to mention, you aren't citing anything either. Just statement, unsupported.
- For FMQB, their charts, as with all radio charts, are updated on a regular basis. They do not tend to archive them, especially on a free charting site. I did some leg work on the matter just to see, and archive.org, you can pull only certain charts as they did not save every weeks chart. However you yourself could see had you attempted at all before constantly changing her page, that in fact her songs did register SIGNIFICANT airplay. Had there been a citation, the link would be unusable as the page doesn't exist anymore through FMQB, nor through archive.org.
- Mediabase, which by all accounts is the recognized industry standard over Billboard, is a paid subscription service. Without having a login, you cannot access their page. This does not take away her accomplishments. Citations could be placed but no one outside of the radio industry would be able to see them. I could simply just link to medibase.com, but no one would get any use out of that. However, if that makes you feel better, I will add that citation in.
- I hope this information you find useful. As you can see, my points above are quite legitimate. I don't mean to be a nuisance with this, but I feel I am more inclined than yourself with this information. Thanks for your time, and please respect this page from now on.

- Dear ForceFan2000 - if you're editing this frequently, please try to edit according to Wikipedia standards. Individuals should be described with their last name rather than their first, for example. And please try to avoid peacock terms and other things of this sort.
- I'll say frankly that this page smacks of conflict of interest to me as well. It sounds written by a professional publicist, and not especially skilled at that.2601:7:2340:29:7D4E:19AC:457E:71B6 (talk) 15:25, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
- Who said I was a professional publicist? I mean everyone has an opinion, but sheesh.
I was merely coming in correcting the previous edits that were derogatory/defamatory claims against this page. All I have done recently is just post an update on her album release, and her chart position. That was all. Nothing wrong with that, is there?
Also, if you want to be taken seriously, try logging in or creating a name. For all anyone knows, you are the same person that was here before putting defamatory claims before. Not saying you are, but it is suspicious.
