Terminology

Does anyone other than the "West of England Partnership" recognise this definition of the West of England? This definition of the "West of England" is just plain wrong and this page (and reference to it on the Bristol page) could be very misleading to someone not familiar with English geography. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.76.47.17 (talk • contribs) 15:52, 7 June 2009

I've expanded the article, with more references, to explain that the term is used in the Bristol area by various organisations - such as UWE, RWA, etc. - and is also used outside the area, in other parts of the South West. It's important to have the article, to explain to readers that the term is used both loosely - to refer to almost any part of the "South West" or "West Country", often on a whim - and specifically by some organisations in a specific area, who cannot bring themselves to use reviled terms like "Avon" or "Greater Bristol". The definition in many ways is not "plain wrong", because it does actually mean whatever people want it to mean, and many organisations in and around Bristol do in fact want it to mean that area. But, obviously, residents of Penwith, for example, might have a valid argument against its use. Ghmyrtle (talk) 19:14, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Wales & West

Does the term have a third meaning in the conjunction with Wales, eg ITV Wales & West (whose lead sentence points here)?
