In the TV adaptation...

  • Jim is considerably older than 13
  • Major Marchbanks is stabbed by Mrs. Holland
  • Mrs Holland's 'tame burglar' is killed by Mr Berry, her 'tame thug'
  • Mrs Rees simply disbelieves Sally, rather than blaming her
  • Trembler does not appear at all
  • Sally's involvement in Frederick's business is barely covered at all
  • The whole segment with a replacement pistol is not present
  • Sally and Frederick buy some opium before rescuing Matthew Bedwell
  • Matthew Bedwell has his throat cut by a tall man of European appearance in the grounds of the Oxford vicarage
  • At this time, Sally is seen to be stalked by a mysterious Oriental
  • Mrs Holland go to Swaleness to search for the ruby, when she ses the inn sign (The Turk's Head) and realises how to solve the cipher
  • Mrs Holland seizes Adelaide herself, with Mr Berry's help
  • After killing Mr Berry, Fred retrieves Sally's original pistol
  • Mrs Holland vanishes wih Adelaide during the fight with Mr Berry
  • Jim reveals that he has the gem, not Rosa
  • Mrs Holland let the mutineers into the Maharajah's palace
  • Ah Ling doesn't explicitely say that Sally would be his wife - the implication is slavery
  • Sally shoots Ah Ling with her father's pistol
  • Sally & Rosa return to the cartriage to find the body gone immediately, rather than reading about it the next day
  • There is no mention of the photographic business being in financial trouble
  • Sally is approached by the mysterious Oriental, who reveals himself as her father's aide, and gives her the message about 'under the clock'

I would like to include this list in the main body of the article, but, mindful that Wikipedia Is Not A List, I thought I'd stick it in the Talk page first for discussion If there is no dissent, I'll add it to the main body in ten days Thanx chrisboote (talk) 09:58, 27 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
