- I removed those unsupported claims.
- Anecdotally, there is a quite well regarded guide to buying pianos by Larry Fine, an American piano technician writing for an American audience, and one of his articles is focused on older used pianos. He gives a list of thirty-two well-regarded piano brands from before 1930, and Straube is not on it. He makes it clear in another article that older pianos not on that list are considered "just average". This doesn't prove any bad things about Straube, but it comes pretty close to proving that Straube was not as well regarded as Wikipedia formerly claimed.
