Birthdate
editPer the discussion at the Help Desk:
- As such, we should be very careful about publishing his birthdate for privacy concerns. In fact, birthdates are specifically called out in WP:BLP#Presumption in favor of privacy. The IP editor both times only edited this article and only to do the same action (remove the birthdate). I can not ignore the fact that this pattern suggests we are gearing up for a WP:DOLT scenario where those IPs are, in fact, S. Scott Bullock himself removing his own birthdate. I, of course, can't prove that. I only have an editing pattern which supports this conclusion. So, it comes to a balance of needs here -- Is providing this information weighed more than the privacy concerns laid out in WP:BLP? Without evidence that this information is already widespread (outside of IMDb), I have to lean in favor of privacy for this living person. As such, I'm removing the birthdate myself until multiple reliable sources showing this information is already widespread is presented, per WP:BLP. -- ShinmaWa(talk) 03:44, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
