I read your info on Ruth Paine and thought it was pretty good but not complete. If it was completed, I believe more people would say: "Yes, I understand it now."

It turns out that it was the wrong people in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I knew the Pains just after the Oswald affair and the question I have is exactly where did Ruth meet Lee. I have heard it was at a chamber orchestra presentation at Highland Park. It turns out that the Vice President of Bell Helicopter started the Chamber Orchestra in Dallas. (He lived in Highland Park) So far, I have not been able to connect their meeting at the V. P.' s home but I probably think it is so. This could have some bearing on the truth of the Oswald affair.

Of course, you say their meeting was at some type singing affair. If this is true, what is the nature of the singing affair?

Paine as a "conspirator"?

edit

We need to change the word "conspirator" in the opening sentence. A "conspiracy" is defined as, quote, "an evil, unlawful, treacherous, or surreptitious plan formulated in secret by two or more persons". Since there is no hard evidence that Ruth Paine was involved in any conspiracy - with Marina or anyone else - the word "conspirator" just doesn't belong. I'm going to replace it with the generic word "friend" simply because I don't know the true status of their relationship. Perhaps "acquaintance" would be better? Out-of-date sentence needs to be updated

edit

The following sentence is more than 8 years out of date: "The City of Irving bought the former Paine home in 2009 and has been restoring it to its 1963 condition to be turned into a museum in time for the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination on November 22, 2013." Calling the Texas School Book Depository

edit

The current article states "Ruth Paine told Lee Oswald about a job opportunity at the Texas School Book Depository.[12]".

But she did more than just tell him. Ruth Paine actually called and spoke to the supervisor at the TSBD.

The Testimony of Roy Sampson Truly before the Warren Commission was Mr. TRULY. I received a phone call from a lady in Irving who said her name was Mrs. Paine. Mr. BELIN. All right. What did Mrs. Paine say, and what did you say? Mr. TRULY. She said, "Mr. Truly,"---words to this effect---you understand---" Mr. Truly, you don't know who I am but I have a neighbor whose brother works for you. I don't know what his name is. But he tells his sister that you are very busy. And I am just wondering if you can use another man," or words to that effect. And I told Mrs.---she said, "I have a fine young man living here with his wife and baby, and his wife is expecting a baby--another baby, in a few days, and he needs work desperately." Now, this is not absolutely--this is as near as I can remember the conversation over the telephone. And I told Mrs. Paine that--to send him down, and I would talk to him--that I didn't have anything in mind for him of a permanent nature, but if he was suited, we could possibly use him for a brief time.

Is this sworn testimony enough, or does Wikipedia need a published news source stating this fact? 66.91.70.55 (talk) 01:47, 14 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
