Notability
editPendu Sound is mentioned in plain text or red links on Sasha Grey, aTelecine, Chelsea Wolfe, Azar Swan, and Frenchkiss Records. Even if not very notable the stubpage could help to tie some related topics together on enwiki without visiting {{discogs label|88368}}
. –84.46.53.62 (talk) 13:17, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- Removed from the enumeration above as unsurprising: AVigillant Carpark The Falcon and the Pod A Cassette Tape Culture (Phase One Two Three) belong to aTelecine, Mater Suspiria Vision is tagged as NN and covered in the 1st reference, Apokalypsis (Chelsea Wolfe album) The Grime and the Glow belong to Chelsea Wolfe, Joshua Strawn belongs to Azar Swan, and Syd Butler belongs to Frenchkiss Records. –84.46.53.62 (talk) 13:29, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- White Ring (band) found on Discogs and the Pendu Sound site, actually only one DJ mix release, but any enwiki page counts. –84.46.53.217 (talk) 13:20, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- Changed my mind about Mater Suspiria Vision, as long as the page exists it can be wikilinked. And if the page is deleted it can be un-linked instead of removed. –84.46.53.3 (talk) 03:44, 25 February 2019 (UTC)
- Talibam! introduced to the wonders of the article wishlist below #T. Starred, Tempers, Von Haze, and Talibam! have (yet) no enwiki pages, but references exist, added to the lede. –84.46.52.26 (talk) 21:21, 19 March 2019 (UTC)
- Added The Orchard reference with a detailed Pendu Sound section.[1] This source can't be archived, WayBack gets a general 400 error. –84.46.52.8 (talk) 22:37, 17 March 2019 (UTC)
- 2006 Getting rid of the glue with Excepter and Daniel Carter listed by Byron Coley and Thurston Moore for Arthur. I've wiki-red-linked Pendu Sound on Excepter and on Daniel Carter. –84.46.53.4 (talk) 02:13, 23 March 2019 (UTC)
- Special:WhatLinksHere/Pendu Sound Recordings is at 9 (excl. talk), should be 17 (archived AfC Help question). –84.46.53.186 (talk) 10:05, 6 April 2019 (UTC)
Sources
editGenre gothic metal is 100% pure snake oil (aka WP:SYNTH) from goth rock plus doom metal found on Chelsea Wolfe. –84.46.53.62 (talk) 14:22, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- Apart from this unsourced genre, apparently Pendu Sound covered many genres, as long as it's independent, not mainstream, experimental, or related to NYC (synth-pop revival). Some aTelecine music doesn't fit into my idea of industrial, it's ambient, minimal, or what I'd call chill if I like it.
- For sources with an enwiki page I generally assume "reliable". Based on that assumption bullettmedia.com post-punk.com are not obvious:
- "bullettmedia" is so far used as source on only two pages, Rad Hourani and Steve Jobs (film).
- "post-punk.com" is used on more than 20 and less than 50 enwiki pages as source.

Wikidata needed the item d:Q61523615 for the label anyway, because it had an ukwiki category d:Q32464776 in need of a main topic, therefore I created this. –84.46.53.198 (talk) 01:03, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- JFTR, the musicbrainz ID in

- Of course it didn't "appear" out of thin air, I added the enwiki page on d:Q61523615. –84.46.52.203 (talk) 16:42, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
- Logo added on d:Q61523615, SVG would be better, but wasting time for a defunct record label logo makes no sense.
Cats
edit@MarkZusab: Just in case, maybe the WP:DRAFTNOCAT maintenance cat is slow with its updates, the {{stub}}
cat was erroneously active for some minutes (hours?), the Category:Independent record labels was never active for NAMESPACENUMBER > 0, same idea as NAMESPACENUMBER > 1 here for an also inactive {{WikiProject Record Labels}}
. –84.46.53.62 (talk) 22:52, 3 February 2019 (UTC)
- BTW, WP:DRAFTNOCAT has nothing whatsoever to do with talk pages, I've now activated two WikiProjects with class=Draft here, and will add class=NA to one or more unrelated redirects on their talk pages (if existing). –84.46.52.44 (talk) 16:08, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
- Now at five WikiProjects, reviewing this draft shouldn't be that difficult and take more than two months. –84.46.53.95 (talk) 23:56, 8 April 2019 (UTC)
- @MainlyTwelve: Please close Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2019 March 1#Category:Establishments in New York City by year as rough consensus for (state), because "the rough" is in essence you, and the nominator can do the actual work.
Closing odd CFDs as logged-in non-admin on Commons used to be fun, but trying this as IP on enwiki would break too many rules even for hardcore IAR fans. –84.46.53.175 (talk) 20:15, 28 April 2019 (UTC) - I don't know how to do that and I don't know who you are? MainlyTwelve (talk) 21:27, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
- Check out WP:NAC as intro, alternatively just suggest that the Ayes have it, with your objections on the records read by Be..anyone, because they want the NYC-cat here to be correct depending on the outcome of this CFD. –84.46.53.175 (talk) 22:40, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
- Okay. Who are you? MainlyTwelve (talk) 22:47, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
- If you don't like Be..anyone as answer have fun with Special:Diff/44714890 or m:Template talk:!. Real name with ORCID ID incl. YouTube channel GitHub account etc. after you… –84.46.53.175 (talk) 00:40, 29 April 2019 (UTC)

Von Haze
edit@Nanophosis: Thanks, apparently you removed four bands without enwiki page from the lede, keeping the Tempers with references in the body. That killed two references for Von Haze and Starred. However, a search for Von Haze finds 7 pages talking about this band (text, no red links), therefore I plan to reinsert it to keep the former Pendu zoo together.
Starred and its reference are presumably a good riddance, and a hopeless case for searches, IIRC as bad as Aa aka Big A small a. Removing the Sasha Grey reference here is no big loss, I was anyway forced to copy the reference to replace an unreliable source for exactly the same book excerpt on Sasha Grey. Not linking to the page at all here is wrong, that wikilink can go to a new #See also section together with a {{portal|Record production portal}}
. The {{PD-logo}}
is listed on WP:FFU#Pendu Sound small.png. –84.46.52.203 (talk) 16:33, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
- Hello, I removed the bands without articles from the lede as they had no established notability on the wiki. However, I agree that bands from that list can be reinserted and redlinked, especially if there are other mentions of the band(s) on-wiki. I also agree that a link to Sasha Grey somewhere in the article is a good idea, but that the source was unreliable and thus needed to be cleaned. As for the logo, I am completely unfamiliar with the uploading process and FFU in general, so I didn't want to dip my toes in and potentially make a mistake. Hopefully a more experienced editor in that subject can address that. Cheers! Nanophosis (talk) 16:48, 27 April 2019 (UTC)

Dais Records
editTwo or more former Pendu bands used (aTelecine) or use (Tempers) Dais Records as their label after Pendu Sound. IIRC the YOU listed in the Dais label roster could belong to this group, if you are sure about this or another band please add Dais Records to #See also. –84.46.53.138 (talk) 16:04, 6 February 2020 (UTC)
