Story

edit

What is the storyline to Painkiller? I find it odd that the article makes really no reference to the storyline. -- Hellmark 09:18, 5 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Painkiller doesn't have much of a storyline to discuss, it's fairly complicated to understand, due to a lack of cutscenes.. All that I understand that is that the Player had died in a car crash, and is now in purgatory, fighting against the forces of hell. If you can find out anymore information, I'm sure it'd be fine to put it up. Unconscious 08:00, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The story of "Painkiller" is very confusing... Why there is no people mention about the 2 different ending of this game?
The storyline is pretty simple - a person has died and still had unresolved things, therefor he still needs to be purged in purgatory. He is contacted by an Angel who told him to go kill some demons who infested purgatory and intend to invade heaven, specifically the "big four". In his quest he finds Eve, "The" Eve, who helps him through the world and basically adds some plot into the thing. After he defeats the big four, Satan takes Eve with him to hell and the player goes and kills him, only to find out that Alastor actually set him up to kill Satan. Then he goes and kills Alastor in BOOH.
There is the thing that Satan hides as some sort of lower creature to "dig graves" (opening to hell). Not much sense is made in that, he could have killed the player and had no point not to do so except maybe curiosity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.69.137.108 (talk) 12:57, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Painkiller music sample.ogg

edit

Image:Painkiller music sample.ogg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Film

edit

Hey, personally, I'm looking forward for this film, I only hope they thicken the plot. The game's plot was lacking, and it will be a big unenjoyment if the movie will turn into a mindless shooting film. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.69.137.108 (talk) 12:50, 20 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Penny Arcade poster

edit

I just picked up the Black Edition (great deal at $3) and it does come with the Penny Arcade poster, contrary to what this article says in the "Other Editions" section. It even says right on the case, "Limited edition Penny Arcade poster." Therefore I'm going to delete the relevant sentence. If anyone cares about this and wants to see a picture of the Black Edition case, let me know. Ψαμαθος 06:33, 11 February 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Psamathos (talkcontribs)

I also bought a black edition - no poster here. It's the german version of the game, though, so that's likely the reason for it.--Cyberman TM (talk) 22:55, 21 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

A subsidiary of Epic Games

edit

Someone added brackets after the first mention of People Can Fly informing that it's a subsidiary of Epic Games. People Can Fly only was bought by Epic after finishing Painkiller so personally I think that this information is out of place. I added "now a" so it becomes a little more apparent that it became a subsidiary later but I think that this information should be completely ommited at this point. Perhaps I'm gonna remove it completely. If someone has good arguments to restore it: go ahead. --188.102.163.121 (talk) 20:35, 5 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Criticism

edit

"Throwback" in [6] doesn't sound like criticism. "Deja vu" isn't there at all. [failed verification]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:
