In 1939, Geoffrey Household's thriller novel Rogue_Male_(novel) was published. In it, the narrator describes two unnamed characters as "Pat and Patachon".
The novel was published in Britain, and serialized in "The Atlantic", an American magazine. It stands to reason that the author assumes that his readership is acquainted with the German name of the pair. Escier (talk) 07:38, 12 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
