In the future section the article claims that Patrols will be available in the States for the first time. I'm pretty sure Patrols were sold for a couple of years in the States in the '60s but have no references

Patrol vs Safari

edit

Why is this page called Nissan Safari when Patrol is the more popular name? ~ Zirguezi 16:13, 14 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

I agree - I'm in the States, where they've never even sold the Patrol (except briefly in the '60s), and I don't know it by any other name. I'm gonna take a guess and say that most other users on any other continent (Australia, Europe, Africa - you pick) would have a pretty good idea what a Nissan Patrol is, rather than a Safari. I also agree. Patrol is used in most markets worldwide, and therefore has a far larger base than "Safari". Unless there are objections, I'll rename the page to Patrol in a week or so.--Cruiser-Aust 22:53, 22 June 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cruiser-Aust (talkcontribs)

Y61, GU edit

edit

The sixth generation Y61 patrol is often referenced as the GU model (in Australia) added its name in brackets as had already been done with the Fifth generation (Y60) model section. The power99 (talk) 04:07, 22 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Seventh generation (Y62; 2010–)

edit

The Features list looks like it has been copied from Nissan's website.

This doesn't sound like Wikipedia speak to me. Williade 20:26, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nissan SafariNissan Patrol — Patrol is the predominant name used for this vehicle around the world, so it's appropriate that the article be renamed "Nissan Patrol", with a redirect from "Nissan Safari". Cruiser-Aust 10:18, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Under the previous Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions, articles were given the title that was used in the original market (Japan in the case of the Safari/Patrol, and hence why the article is titled "Safari"). However, the revised policy now states, "Each article shall be titled with the model name used in the subject vehicle's home market, unless a single name other than the home-market name is used in English-speaking markets, and the home market is not English-speaking. In such cases, the article shall be titled with the model name used in English-speaking markets."
As far as I know, Japan is the only market to use the "Safari" name, and "Patrol" was used originally in Japan for the first and second generation cars. So under the current policy, "Nissan Patrol" would be the preferred name. OSX (talkcontributions) 02:51, 15 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Plant identification

edit

I found many Nissan vehicle identification numbers of used Nissan Patrol on different websites. But who knows which of these plant codes belongs to which plant: A, D, L, N, Y and Z? --TheAutoJunkie (talk) 02:00, 24 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Nissan Patrol Y63

edit

The Nissan Patrol Y63 will be launched in the GCC by the end of Q3 2024. Alex LX281 (talk) 02:40, 29 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not sure where to put this but for whoever edited the Y63 page after me: production began before November 2024, that date is instead when Patrol's went on sale across several different countries in the region (it likely began late October even). ToyGTone (talk) 15:33, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Y60 patrol dimensions

edit

Currently the y60 patrol dimensions have it as 1996mm wide but I can't find anything that corroborates that fact. Everything I have has the LWB and SWB wagons sitting between 1800mm and 1930mm with the pickup being 1690 mm wide.
