This article was changed in February 2006 by an anonymous editor who has indulged in vandalism on other articles, to change the relationship between Nicholas and Richard Crane from brother to cousin, and to change the number of Nicholas' children. Online sources which are not mirrors of Wikipedia do not appear to specify their relationship. Anyone able to confirm their relationship, please do so. -- Arwel (talk) 06:59, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

This link [1], which appears to be reputable, says they're cousins. Also the acknowledgements to their "Bicycles Up Kilimanjaro" mention their "brothers and sisters", so they either came from a very large family or (more likely) different immediate families. --Bonalaw 14:13, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
OK, though it only mentions 2 children - we really need a source if another has been born since. -- Arwel (talk) 14:22, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Reply
I confirm that the text of "Bicycles Up Kilimanjaro" refers to them as being cousins, and their different parents. 87.74.83.175 (talk) 12:03, 29 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Education

edit

I know Nick's education from 67-72 is correct (I was there) - but what about afterwards? I thought he applied to Oxford, and I recall him representing Oxford in Now Get Out of That when it was first screened (the reference here probably comes from wcremembered, which I inserted a long time ago). However that doesn't match with the claim here that he went to Anglia Ruskin University (the cross reference from that page on wiki to here isn't proof). Does anyone have an external reference which is demonstrably from either of those establishments?

Oxford confirmation http://www.ukgameshows.com/ukgs/Now_Get_Out_of_That, however the series is reported as being in 1982, which would've been long after Nick would've completed a first degree (my memory isn't good enough to confirm that date).

OK, I've answered my own question - he was on the Oxford team, but not necessarily Oxford University - unless anyone else can find proof elsewhere. --Impeachable (talk) 12:09, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Coast

edit

The programme Coast began a new series in June 2011. It seems that Nicholas Crane has gone back to being the lead presenter of the programme after Neil Oliver. If any one knows whether this is so, it could go in the article. ACEOREVIVED (talk) 23:18, 21 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism

edit

This article previously claimed, without source, and in the lede no less, that, "Nicholas was notoriously the only person on both sides of the East/West Coast 'rap divide', purely because he just loves coasts so much and couldn't bring himself to choose."

In so far as there is or ever was an, "East/West Coast 'rap divide'," it was a dispute between two Rap performers in the United States, Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. The idea that Nicholas Crane might have had a view on this feud seems ludicrous to me and this looks like an obvious case of vandalism so I have removed it. If it turns out his views are indeed, "notorious," then any editor wishing to re-insert it won't have any trouble finding a source. Cottonshirtτ 08:44, 20 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

"For the neo-Nazi skinhead, see Nicky Crane"

edit

Why is this redirection on the page? Nicky Crane's real name is Nicola Vincenzo "Nicky" Crane (according to his WikiPedia entry) - no Nicholas - and there is no corresponding redirection back.

I would like to suggest that it is removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.39.21.242 (talk) 10:42, 20 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
