@Tamila Sparrow, regarding your proposed change, the source uses "Xodjayeva" with "Khodjaeva" in parenthesis. Is "Khodjaeva" more common? – Þjarkur (talk) 19:47, 17 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

(talk) 0:11, 18 May 2019 (UTC) Þjarkur The source incorrectly used passport details. "Xodjayeva" is in uzbek transliteration and used only in Uzbek language internallyб, which is absolutely incorrect in English and strongly conflicts with other sources. "Khodjaeva" is international writing, used in all the official documents and IDs. "Sparrow" is only a pseudonym

Reliable sources

edit

Editors are reminded to use reliable independent sources in all articles, including this one. Facebook and other social media are not generally accepted. Same goes for advertorials and native advertising. I've opened up a question at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard regarding native advertising in beautypageants.indiatimes.com, which for some reason is referred to as "Miss India Beauty Pageants" in 22 sources here.

India Times not an independent reliable source for this article

edit

The Times Group has an financial interest in beauty pageants: see Femina Miss India. Further, their site beautypageants.indiatimes.com has a disclaimer that it is not news but native advertising and lists a commercial pageant entity as a contact and presumably the content editor. There is consensus at WP:RSN to treat it as a blog, i.e. WP:SPS and not of general use for citations. -- Bri.public (talk) 23:58, 7 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

Miss Japan Tourism Award

edit

Hi, guys. Couldn't find this award on the roster/list of awards on the Miss International website where the 2019 results are on the landing page, including the list of finalists, semifinalists, and special awards recipients. Not sure if this is an award outside the official auspices of the Miss International organization, just like the Missosology People's Choice award, which was removed as it isn't an official award given by the organization. If you guys have any source/info on this, please supply said source, or let's discuss here.

I'm retaining the award on the list, until further discussion, since it might be a government-given award with official recognition by the Miss International organization, which is quite different from the Missosology People's Choice -- an external award given by a pageant blog, outside the Miss International organization.

If you find sources/references on this "Miss Japan Tourism Award," please supply them to improve the article, or let's discuss here.

Thanks.

Taiwan flag

edit

This flag appears with {{flagicon}} TPE

@De Boni 2007: Regarding this revert, reintroducing {{flagicon}} TPE – I really don't think a flag with the Olympic rings is used by this competition. Can you show that this exact flag is the right one? ☆ Bri (talk) 19:28, 24 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
