Like a Resume?
editI have removed the {{likeresume}} because I just don't see it. That tag is for COI, and while the article does read a bit like a dustjacket blurb, I see no inappropriate peacock terms. (Incidentally, I have a copy of his book in my hands, so I've confirmed that this is not a copyvio of the dustjacket blurb, and it's also not borrowed from the People magazine review of his book.) The article is also reasonably well sourced. -- But|seriously|folks 19:29, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- When the article is nothing but a few biographic tidbit and a list of published works, then it reads like a resume. There is no discussion or analysis of his works or writing style, only a cited list of what he wrote and appearances he made. That's what a resume is. The tag is not only for COI, it may be used in that context the most but it is really about writing style. Nowhere in the tag does it mention or link COI. But since much of the article was edited by an IP, it very well could be COI. There is no separate article for his book, and this one provides no further info. Again, simply listing his achievements smacks of resume. The guy is a legitimately notable Oregon writer, and I would like to see his bio expanded beyond a list of the places his work has been published and awards received. VanTucky (talk) 19:31, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- Respectfully, I think you're misusing that tag. If you follow the link in it, it takes you to WP:COI. The second line recommends revising the article to make it "neutral and encyclopedic", which are COI concerns. The tag also places the article in Category:Wikipedia articles needing style editing. But I gather your complaint is with the limited scope, not the style.
- As far as I can see, the only problem with the article right now is that it's a stub. So would you be satisfied with {{Expand}}? -- But|seriously|folks 20:10, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
LGBT Hispanics?
editWhy the hell is there no category for LGBT Hispanics? I've looked and looked but have yet to find one. --Ragemanchoo82 (talk) 03:45, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has become a little hesitant to allow articles regarding sexual orientation, as a lot of posters were abusing it by putting people that were in fact not gay, or by putting up people that were merely suspected of being gay, causing threats of lawsuits, etc., in 10/2007 based on defamation. Let's face it, sadly there is no way to verify it unless the person has verified and/or allowed it themselves...how unfortunate.69.204.225.103 (talk) 05:54, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- How about this, then: Do it anyway. If there's going to be a category for gay asians, gay native americans, etc, then there needs to be one for gay hispanics. --98.232.181.201 (talk) 07:45, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Politician category
editTo his credit, there is not evidence that Mr. Acito has engaged in poltics, so I am removing this cat as there is no mention of politics in the article. V. Joe (talk)
