I would welcome any improvements, additions or expansions to this article, in particular some verification (if possible) regarding Dr John Smith's Cup Final hat-trick in 1881 and whether or not the "Munro" credited with the second goal in the first 1909 final was in fact Rangers' goalkeeper, and if he was indeed bundled into the net by Quinn in the manner I suppose. Anyone with access to contemporary newspapers (Glasgow Herald, Scotsman) may be able to resolve these points.

Likewise, anyone with easy access to those sources might like to research my surmise that a large number of Quinn's goals were vital, i.e. match-levelling or match-winning, and that this accounts for his enduring fame.

It was actually Munro, a Celtic player, who scored. The Scotsman match report of 12th April 1909 states "Munro crossed a fine ball into the goal. Rennie, in saving, stepped backwards, and the referee promptly awarded a goal". Taxi for Rennie!
