Question on naming
editThe article states that the inhabitants named the river and the lake. Were those names not current long before the founding of the town? If so, the introduction needs to be changed. Kablammo 02:40, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
Earned title?
editIf this city's average temp us 4 degrees above Fraser's average temp, then how can it "earn" the title of Icebox of the Nation? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.174.65.61 (talk) 01:18, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
dubious/unsourced "coldest city in the continental united states" ?
editFirst of all, we can compare the NOAA-sourced climate data for International Falls to that of, say Barrow, Alaska. Barrow is colder, and they are both in the continental united states. Perhaps what was meant was the contiguous United States, which would exclude Alaska. However, I can find no source from Forbes besides this <http://www.forbes.com/2007/07/20/weather-storms-united-states-biz-cx_tvr_0720weather_slide_8.html> which gives a 36.4°F (unsourced), rather than NOAA's own 37.82°F daily mean. Mang (talk) 14:06, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- I got it now. Forbes specifies Metro Areas in an accompanying article, but admittedly copies off of Dan Baker's weather page, which specifies "lower 48". Baker cites, for the relevant table (#16, "10 coldest cities") the National Climatic Data Center. I'll change it in the article.Mang (talk) 22:59, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Climate
editTornadoes are rare. On August 9, 1993, two people were killed by an F0 tornado in Littlefork and the strongest was an F2 on September 1, 1973.--Kevjgav (talk) 07:16, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
