Were these concerns ever addressed? If so, could someone make a note of it here? Thanks, Lini 02:55, 8 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Discussion re Name

edit

Has she always been India.Arie as opposed to India Arie? sjorford (talk) 22:04, 9 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

As far as I can tell from her website, her band is called "India.Arie", and her name is India Arie. -- :Karada 12:19, 21 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Media:kjjkname, so I am going to make the change. Her bad does not have a name. I've been to 4 of her shows & they do not have an official name. She introduces her band one by one by their names(Kerisha, Blue, Shannon; also Tony H but he has since left). Hope this helps. lilkunta| 11:29, 4 June 2006(EST)

Her real name is India Arie Simpson (Unsigned comment)

Maybe one of her fans can indicate if "India.Arie" is pronounced any different from "India Arie"... I wonder where this community draws the line regarding "creative" name spellings. Seems just randomly inserting an arbitrary and silent punctuation mark is pretty silly. 74.192.137.84 (talk) 04:38, 20 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Place of birth

edit

Was she not born in Atlanta, Georgia ? No. She was born in Denver, Colorado and moved to ATL when she was 13.

Commercial Language

edit

"Sidestepping all the devices of flavor-of-the-month record-making, Acoustic Soul acquainted listeners with a brave and eloquent new voice. The album drew an uncommonly broad swath of listeners from lovers of hip hop, neo soul, blues, folk, and classic troubadour-style singer-songwriter, all at once." sounds like a commercial. ~~ —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tmcw (talkcontribs) 22:43, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

What type of voice does she have? sounds like lyrics mezzo till lyric alto (in between) to me - but I haven`t found any link about her voicetype. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.218.215.176 (talk) 20:29, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Separate discography page

Would it be okay to create a separate discography page, To create less space on her real page?Hayden White--Hayden White (talk) 17:52, 13 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

No objection from me.  Xihr  00:14, 14 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Possible sources do not belong in External links; they belong here

edit

Yes, references that are unused are to be kept on the talk page. External links isn't a parking lot for them. Here is the link farm moved here from there today. Please check to be sure they fit the requirements for sources. Thank you. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 08:38, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Photos in articles

edit

The article as I saw it today had several problems. The biggest glaring one was the over-abundance and excess size of the photos, which are part of my specialty on the Wikipedia. They are to be used with a clear, fairly recent photo in the infobox, and additional photos should appear chronologically down, and reflect what was in the text. I didn't really see the photos reflecting a point made with a reference to back the text, too. I resized the pics, and eliminated one, per WP:IG and other policy. The next problem is referencing. With such tiny 3 sentence paragraphs, and then a "see page on" (I dunno.. ) for 'the main" section. Those are too small to place images or text! Once the text is expanded, then adding more photos that support the text would be OK if they reflect what is in the wording. --Leahtwosaints (talk) 09:44, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 08 June 2014

edit
The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: page moved. Armbrust The Homunculus 05:04, 16 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

India.ArieIndia Arie – There are two reasons for move. First, the name without a period (".") is most common, as per WP:COMMONNAME. Google search returns 750.000 hits for "India.Arie"[1] and over 16 million hits for "India Arie"[2]. Second, the proposed title would be in accordance with the MOS:TM policy. Although personal names are usually not perceived to be trademarks, MOS:TM defines trademarks as "words and short phrases used by organizations and individuals to identify themselves [...]", thus this article title is obviously a trademark. MOS:TM says: "Avoid using special characters that are not pronounced, are included purely for decoration [...]". Vanjagenije (talk) 23:46, 8 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Removed categories as record producer

edit

Her categories include record producer-related but there are no citations or information provided to verify her experience as a record producer. Being a recording artist is not the same as the title "record producer".

If she does have experience/credits as a record producer, please re-write it into the article with citations. If she was co-producer on her albums, please designate as such (with citations). Actaudio (talk) 06:41, 12 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

What about Blue Miller?

edit

Blue Miller was her first producer. He recordad her first cassette tape, as she told in her concert in Java 2014. Blue Mille passed away in 2018. I think he deserves a little recognition. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Donguijote (talkcontribs) 22:27, 1 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
