editThe word in the middle of the song says 'cookie', not 'cocaine', I think, which I took to mean a joke, 'cookie' being what Cookie Monster from Sesame Street said. That show was on the air at that time, and John Lennon may have seen it in America.
- But can anyone explain what it means? Just a joke? (Seems most likely). Some obscure meaning/inside joke? Did anyone ever ask Lennon why he put that in there? -RedShiftPA (talk) 05:21, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Was Lennon farmiliar with Sesame Street? It was an American show that was in its infancy when this song was recorded, and Lennon was semi-estranged from his son Julian at this time. Then again, he was frequently in the US for primal therapy, so maybe he first saw it there. 98.221.133.96 (talk) 05:28, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
