Godric → Godric (disambiguation) – "Godric" should redirect to Saint Godric of Finchale, who is the clear primary topic. He is competing with comparatively niche figures; many are TV/Movie characters, not notable enough for their own articles (and overwhelmed by the Saint's long-term significance), while others are immensely dwarfed in page views. The only challenge to the Saint is a 1981 novel; however, considering that the novel is based on the Saint, the latter remains the primary topic. Aza24 (talk) 05:18, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
- Well, that look at statistics seems to omit a couple of things, notably the Buechner novel about the saint but still apparently a significant work in its own right, and the Potter novels character. These two combined consistently receive more reader interest than then saint article, even if the latter is a redirect to a one paragraph description. It doesn't look like there's a primary topic by usage, and the average reader might well recognize this as just a human given name, not a saint's name per se. In that case, there's little point in trying to avoid ambiguity - a fair few of these readers might be astonished if they land at the article about a specific saint, even if it is a biography of substantial significance. - Oppose – no obvious primary topic, per Asukite. Dicklyon (talk) 18:52, 14 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose per Asukite, as well as only 30% of visitors to this page end up at the Saint, and it constitute less than 5% of the overall page views for the Saint. No clear primary topic, and this isn't how people are generally finding the saint. TiggerJay (talk)
