This article contains several very long paragraphs, making it more difficult to read than necessary. I've reduced the length in a few cases. Is anyone interested in doing the same for others? -- Astrochemist 23:48, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

The original source of this article's content apparently was the 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica. -- Astrochemist 03:18, 15 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Much used verbatim - not all referenced. I've added a few. Could do more ? - Rod57 (talk) 01:56, 4 May 2017 (UTC)Reply

Content, merge, Canary Isles

edit

Can something be merged from François Jean Dominique Arago?

It looks like they have been merged, as the above link now redirects back to François Arago 194.200.237.219 10:50, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Is it "francois jean dominique arago" or "dominique francois jean arago" or even "dominique-francois-jean arago"? Some sources hyphenate his names, and some use different orders for his names. What is going on here? 194.200.237.219 10:50, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Shouldn't the reference to the Canary Islands (in the Atlantic) actually be referring to the Balaeric Islands (in the Mediterranean)? I've traced this error back to 28 October 2003 when this article was merged with another one. I've now changed the reference to Balaeric Islands as Mount Galatzo and the fortress of Bellver are both on Mallorca! 194.200.237.219 10:50, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

It would be great to add some description of Arago's experiment described here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aether_drag_hypothesis

"the improvement of the reneile" --must be a typo.

There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.

The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.

Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 02:48, 26 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Contradiction

edit

He is listed as both a Freemason and an Atheist. The two are incompatible. --68.174.147.56 (talk) 21:03, 18 January 2016 (UTC)Reply

In the English-speaking area, the two are incompatible, I agree.

How many brothers did he have?

edit

The article about his mother lists 6 Arago brothers, not 4 as in the text. 47.17.223.161 (talk) 07:42, 5 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
