Secrets of Fort Ord
editWhat is that? Why is the word tourists in quotes? Are the people on the bus trip not really tourists? This makes it sound like some sort of Halloween hayride, but the photo caption suggests it's not. That part needs rewritten for clarity and by someone that knows how to use quotation marks correctly. 67.169.145.35 (talk) 15:08, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
UCSC
editWhat's with the UC Santa Cruz info in the main page? Vampromero (talk) 03:51, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
Major issue
editThis article is factually incoherent. To the point where it is almost uneditable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmhunter (talk • contribs) 16:46, 22 June 2008 (UTC)
What Happen....
editWhat happen to the community when the base left? How did it affect stores and restaurants that relied on the soldier's income? How did it effect crime and civility in seaside and surrounding cities? ```` Twistedpup —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.164.68.172 (talk) 18:41, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
- In regards to crime before the base was deactivated, the Monterey Peninsula's rape statistics were twice the national average. Of course, until I find a citation for something over 20 years old, it cannot be posted in the article. Highspeed (talk) 15:23, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
Inaccurate Narrative: 194th Armd Bde
editThis statement is inaccurate: "The 194th Armored Brigade was activated there under Combat Development Command in 1957, but departed for Fort Knox in 1960." The 194th was activated at Fort Knox, KY, on 21 December 1962. See: http://www.history.army.mil/html/forcestruc/lineages/branches/div/194arbde.htm VilePig (talk) 16:42, 28 March 2013 (UTC)
"too US-centric?"
edit"The examples and perspective in this article deal primarily with the United States and do not represent a worldwide view of the subject. Please improve this article and discuss the issue on the talk page. (August 2015)"
Er... it's an article about an old US military base. Is the article about the old fortress at Eben Emael too Belgium-centric and insufficiently "worldwide?" — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.61.153.75 (talk) 07:36, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
Paintball
editThere is a large complex of buildings in the middle of the fort, never occupied, built and used for urban warfare training. Have heard that sometimes locals and students go there to play paintball. Worth a mention?
