Will start this review shortly. Thanks, Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 16:52, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- The son of Czech immigrants to Austria, Ulrich and his family eventually moved to Baltimore, Maryland, I assume this to mean he was born in Austria (later clarified in the body), but I think you should add that here as it is a little bit confusing.
- The disease would kill him I suggest changing this to "killed him" because this is consistent with the wording in the previous sentence.
- and gained the nickname "Dutch." any reason for this? Also, do we have a year for when he moved to the USA?
- Great question, but unfortunately, the sources did not say. Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 13:31, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- Walt Lerian noticed that Ulrich's pitch velocity, location, and control were the best of all the pitchers he had caught in semipro ball that year. The players became good friends are these two sentences linked? If so, I think they could be linked through a semi-colon.
- he finished 23rd in NL Most Valuable Player Award voting I suggest changing the wording here to something like he finished 23rd in the vote for the NL Most Valuable Player Award.
- By the end of the 1927 season, Ulrich had emerged as one of Philadelphia's best pitchers you might want to attribute this to a specific author as it could be a controversial statement.
- The Russo book actually doesn't explicitly say that, so I took it out. Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 13:35, 3 July 2021 (UTC)
- You wikilink tuberculosis but not pneumonia.
- The information in the final sentence seems important. Why not include this in the lede?
- The caption in the image is a sentence and should have a full-stop. Also, you should provide a reference for the statement.
All looks good. The sources check out and I am happy to promote to GA once the issues are addressed. Please let me know if you have any queries. Kind regards, Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 20:24, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
