Bissara origin

edit

Hello !

I'm sorry to have to bother you but I have a quick question : I made a modification on the Bissara article (here), but you deleted my contribution saying that I added my personal opinion while I wrote the article based on the source of the expert and historian Anny Gaul who specializes in the culinary history of North Africa and the Middle East.

In fact, it is mentioned in the current article that Bissara originated in ancient Egypt, however, after verification, none of the sources mentioned in the article says that Bissara originated in ancient Egypt : the user who claimed this used his personal opinion.

So, I wanted to correct this based on the work and studies of the historian Anny Gaul who traces the origin of Bissara to Morocco, the historian specifies that Bissara originated in Morocco and that it was was introduced into Egypt by Moroccans who stopped for a while in Egypt (they made stopovers in Egypt) during their long journey to Mecca in Saudi Arabia for the sacred pilgrimage (it is a Muslim ritual), a journey very long which lasted for months.

So, how can I be accused of using my personal opinion when I used the source of the historian Anny Gaul ?

Can you explain to me ? :)

Hello @331dot
I am contacting you because you are an admin and I need help.
A few months ago I contributed to the Bissara article and I enriched the article using sources from the American culinary historian Anny Gaul, however, the user "Skitash" canceled my contribution and accused me of adding my personal opinion while I used the source of the American culinary historian Anny Gaul who specializes in the history of North African and Middle Eastern cuisine.
I contacted him to discuss with him (as you can see on the discussion article on my user page), I asked him for explanations, but he did not answer me, he did not explain me, he just posted a warning on my user page.
I understand that he may not have time but I need to understand why he accuses me of adding my personal opinion while I used the source of Anny Gaul, who is a culinary historian ?
Furthermore, after checking, the Bissara article contains POV because no source currently mentioned in the article cites an origin from ancient Egypt.
I explained this to him, but he did not answer me to explain how can I be accused of using my personal opinion when I used the source of the historian Anny Gaul ?
Therefore, I fear to contribute to the page again and be blocked. However, the source of the historian Anny Gaul is valuable and must be added to clarify the origin of this specialty.
What should I do in this case ?
I khow you guys have a lot of things to do on Wikipedia but if you don't explain to me, I can't learn and I can't improve.
Also, I am a new user on Wikipedia, so don't be rude to me :)

I cannot force someone to talk to you, and admins do not settle content disputes. I would suggest looking at dispute resolution. 331dot (talk) 16:27, 27 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
