1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct. Prose is clear and concise, spelling and grammar are correct.
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation. Excellent lead section, layout is great, no words to watch that I can see.
2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
  1. Early life: - reference checks out OK
  2. Career
    1. Politics: references check out OK
    2. Utah House of Representatives:
      1. Elections: references check out OK
      2. Tenure references check out OK, but have highlighted that some material about her life may be missing
  3. Later life
    • "She served as the board's chair from 1989 to 1991." what is the reference for this?
    • "White offered to resign from the position of chair in 1989, due to controversy involving debt of $50,000, but the board voted to show confidence in her. Despite not wanting to serve another term she was unanimously selected to serve another term in 1990. She declined to serve another term despite having been renominated in 1991. She was selected to serve as secretary after being chair of the board." due to the controversial nature of this issue, we really need to source each sentence, please see Wikipedia:Citing sources#Keeping_citations_close.
    • All other references and material checks out
  4. Political positions
    1. Abortion: sources check out
    2. Equal Rights Amendment: sources check out
    3. Women's rights: sources check out
  5. Electoral history: sources check out - I admit I didn't check the percentages! - Aussie Article Writer (talk) 04:07, 17 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
2c. it contains no original research.
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism.
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic. Gives a good biography, seems to cover her political positions well. However:
  • I noticed a number of awards that she isn't credited for, and according to this source, "She also helped establish the Children’s Justice Center in Tooele and worked for the Tooele Adult Probation and Parole Office until she retired at the age of 78. White also served as a member of the Governor’s Commission on the Status of Women (1986–1993)". Whilst she is most notable for her legislative and political work, surely these things should be included in the article?
  • This source says that White wanted to reestablish Capitol Punishment. Is this something that should be covered?
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
  4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each. For balance, the following probably needs to note the controversy from the Republican party's viewpoint "On January 22, 1991, White and five other people were selected by forty delegates to be candidates to replace Bill Pitt on the Tooele County Commission, but Edwin St. Clair was selected to fill the vacancy." The source of the controversy can be found here. - Aussie Article Writer (talk) 03:43, 17 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Fixed by nom. - Aussie Article Writer (talk) 18:01, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
  5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
  7. Overall assessment.

  • @Aussie Article Writer: I have finally gotten to fixing the problems you had with the article and I will explain why I didn't do some of them. The "She served as the board's chair from 1989 to 1991" is in reference to the Tooele Valley Medical Center Special Service District Board which was mentioned in the previous sentence. I also really wanted to find a place to put the capitol punishment support into when originally writing the article, but couldn't so I decided to leave it out rather than just have one sentence sticking out at the very top. • Jon698 I feel this is very close to GA stays, but there is still one referencing issue that needs attention, and if we could fix the minor NPOV issue, then I think we are almost there. We do need to note her position on capital punishment for completeness. - Aussie Article Writer (talk) 17:16, 21 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
