incorrectly citing radio interview as direct accusation of blame within post election activities section.
editin the section "Post-election activities" there is a false claim that Bernie sanders blamed the Clinton campaign for Russian interference. The section clearly uses language that asserts a stance and statement that does not exist in the sourced article tied to it or the sources of that source(direct quote: "he blamed the Clinton campaign for not doing more to prevent Russian interference." linking to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernie_Sanders#cite_note-:6-277).
excerpt from the above linked source reads the incorrect assertion provided:
“The real question to be asked is what was the Clinton campaign [doing about Russian interference]? They had more information about this than we did,” Sanders said in the interview with Vermont Public Radio.
end of excerpt.
having listened to the entire radio interview, reviewing the linked source for this claim, and the sources within that source there does not appear to be a single instance that could be viewed as a direct statement where Bernie Sanders Blamed the Clinton campaign, there may be statements that indicate a view that action should have been taken however that is in no way something that can be put forth as a statement of blame and leaving historical accounts incorrectly recounting the past hurts both Bernie Sanders image and record and opens the floor to project narratives that cannot be confirmed.
I ask that the article be corrected to remove the claim that he blamed the Clinton campaign for this issue or that statements made lead media outlets argue that his statements to assume such however as it stands the wording states him assigning blame as a matter of fact and that is incorrect. - I changed it to
- "Furthermore, he questioned the Clinton campaign's lack of action on preventing Russian interference."
- Which is more faithful to Sanders' actual wording, as the previous editor obviously just read the title of the article and put it in. 300AD (talk) 22:26, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you, that should suffice! AnotherDevNalyd (talk) 21:43, 11 November 2024 (UTC)
