Better captions

edit

The pictures seem to need better captions. Also the information should be included in the article, not new information given in the captions. Thanks. Steve Dufour (talk) 15:44, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Dead Sentenced to Death?

edit

"Under Icelandic law... quickfire could be punished by death only if the arsonists were killed in the act; such a killing could not be prosecuted."

I think this should be clarified carefully.

It doesn't appear to make sense; re-punctuation and a slight amendment to read "quickfire could be punished by death; only if the arsonists were killed in the act would such a killing not be prosecuted." would make more sense, but insofar as the final clause states the seemingly obvious either the ability to prosecute the dead should be emphasised or it should perhaps be deleted. Or should the statement have been "quickfire could be punished by death only if the victims of the arsonists were killed in the act.

Interesting, but confusing.

Is there a difference between quickfire and arson?

edit

The article is vague about this. In Burnt Njáll, I don't remember additional materials being used to put fire to the houses. Is the use of wood, etc. instead of simply lighting up the house a difference between quickfire and arson, or not ? --Alþykkr (talk) 10:50, 3 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
