After starting this stub I got I bit confused and could not find enough reliable information to clear things up. In particular Analysis Situs does not seem to be a book, but a series of papers (with errata and addendums) by Poincare on topology. MathMartin 13:11, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Using an ams biography [1] and a list of his publications [2] I was able to clear things up a bit. MathMartin 14:09, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
Hermann Weyl, in several of his works, uses "Analysis Situs" to mean topology in general. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.7.109.210 (talk) 18:52, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
No, there is a book, Analysis Situs, by Oswald Veblen (1st edition 1922 and second edition 1931) which was for a generation the most important textbook on topology in English. The redirections should be canceled and a page -- or at least a stub -- added under Analysis Situs (book). I will write it if no one else wants to.--NfrHtp (talk) 20:00, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
