Updating 2024 Results
editI have updated all A through L countries through these games. Anyone else is free to take off from there, just let us know which ones you've updated. Bkatcher (talk) 18:40, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
- I think the chart is current through the 2024 Olympics. Thanks to everyone who contributed. Bkatcher (talk) 04:27, 12 August 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I find some of the countries' medal count have been updated, while some other countries haven't seen their medal count updated yet. Not to mention, some countries' medal count also doesn't add up as well. We would like to see this discrepancy fixed ASAP. It's been almost a week now since the Paris Games ended, so the medal count for all countries should have been updated right then (with the accurate medal count of course). Please, someone with authority should look into this. Ryumikhail (talk) 22:49, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
Art competitions medals are constantly added without consensus
editThe Art competitions medals, primarily USA, are constantly being added by ip-users or as well as accounts that are not confirmed or autoconfirmed.
But to my knowledge there is no consensus on this and if there is then all countries medal records that have won a medal in this competition as well as in Alpinism and Aeronautics would have to be changed.
Therefore I would recommend semi-protection for this article. Miria~01 (talk) 11:45, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose: The IOC added them to their medal tables and it was misleading of us not to reflect this. This is, after all, the all time table, so it should be properly reflected. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:36, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- comment: to date, unfortunately only the USA has been changed in this regard and the other 22 nations affected continue to be without the medals for art comp., alpinism and aeronautics. Therefore, this should also be adapted for the other nations. Miria~01 (talk) 17:47, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yep. Consistency is key, so we should be adding those as well. Hey man im josh (talk) 17:50, 4 September 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose inclusion: Can someone give me evidence the IOC has suddent shifted thier position on this? This would be a major change in the charts. For instance, Monaco would be included. Bkatcher (talk) 20:06, 4 September 2024 (UTC)

- In all Olympic NOC profiles and medal tables, medals for comp, alpinism and aeronatuics are included on their pages.
- e.g. Switzerland Profile - olympics.com with art comp., alpinism and aeronautics

- @Bkatcher@Hey man im josh
- There was also a discussion here on the WikiProject (unfortunately with little participation), but there seems to be more of a support for inclusion. The medals in art competitions as well as for the feats in alpinism and aeronautics are considered official medals by the IOC, but not as an Olympic sport. This can also be seen in the Monaco profile, where this is clearly stated.
No athlete representing Monaco has yet won an Olympic Games medal of any colour in the sports competitions.
However, the medal in art competitions is listed as medal by discipline.- That is why I am also ambivalent and consider, for example, the entry of art competitions in the table for medals by sports to be actually wrong (e.g. United States at the Olympics#Medals by summer sport).
- This should be also changed:
- a) Medals by discipline instead of medals by sport or, which I favor more, b) in a separate table (medals by feats). Miria~01 (talk) 22:47, 4 September 2024 (UTC)

Luxemburg has not 2 gold Summer Olympics medals
editLuxemburg is credited with 2 gold medals. This is wrong. The medal of Michel Theato in the 1900 Summer Games marathon is still for France, according to IOC.Olympic Games Paris 1900 Athletics marathon men Results.
I think we have a problem here, Wikipedia is not a primary source. This must be changed in all medals table. Luxemburg, France and All-time table. MachoCarioca (talk) 16:47, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
AIN medals
editShould AIN medals be added to Russia and Belarus? 95.164.122.136 (talk) 17:02, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
- No, just like the other times Russian athletes competed under the Olympic flag, they go in their own section. Bkatcher (talk) 17:27, 30 August 2024 (UTC)
totale medaglie USA
- Teanslation: Before the 2024 Paris Olympics, USA in the total medal count had 1061 gold medals, 830 silver and 738 bronze (as published by you in this table), at the Olympics they won 40 gold, 44 silver and 42 bronze. So the total should be 1101 gold (not 1105), 874 silver (not 879), while the bronzes are exactly 780.
