Found the solution to this. Look at the page of Saoirse Ronan and change it accordingly. Why not British-born Indian actress (if you she is that obsessed with being called a British citizen)!!
She's not British like it says. Both her parents are Indian; it's not Indian "descent." She lives in India; also not Indian "descent." Anant-morgan (talk) 21:45, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
But ethnicity wise, she has also been Indian and lives here too. We did same for Akshay Kumar and didn't call him 'Canadian.' In fact, the only reason calling her "British of Indian descent" would be if she preferred that way. Anant-morgan (talk) 11:34, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Kumar was originally an Indian citizen, he was Canadian for a decade, then reverted back. Besides, we do not use ethnicity in lead, only citizenship/nationality. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 13:16, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
"British-born" would be incorrect too because she was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. "Indian descent" suggests that she was born to Indian parents outside India, which is not the case. IsFanXianAlive (talk) 11:52, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
She has a British passport because her mother was born there. She is of Indian descent . Pls don’t try to fit the British in because she acquired just a passport and that doesn’t mean she was born there. Her mother was just born there and moved to India soon after
As per MOS:CONTEXTBIO - "The opening paragraph should usually provide context for that which made the person notable." This makes perfect sense and is very important guidance for cases like Alia Bhatt. In this case, her notability has nothing to do with her British citizenship. She has lived and worked throughout her life in India and continues to do so. By all means she should be referred to as an 'Indian Actress'. Priyanka Chopra on the other hand would be an example of "Indian and American Actress" as she has notability and domicile of both the countries across her career.
A humble request to moderators to not fall prey to restricted interpretations of the guidelines and in the process completely ignore the facts. It makes wikipedia very unreliable information source at times. Nitin.35 (talk) 19:14, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Is it worth adding the nepotism controversy that arose following the interview with Bhatt and Bala about Johar sending the script to Bhatt unbeknownst to Bala? 19Arham (talk) 13:12, 19 October 2024 (UTC)Reply

Alia Bhatt is an Indian actress with British ancestry on her mother's side not an British actress of Indian origin. She has never acted in any British movies to be adressed as an British actress. Kindly change this wrong information put up on her wikipedia page. 2409:40F4:10:A8BE:20F1:CBB8:A066:830 (talk) 18:43, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. The previous messages above would appear to contradict your statement, as does The Times article referenced in the lead. Please provide evidence to support your claim. Alia Bhatt modified her last name as of September 2024, by adding a Kapoor at the end of her full name. She is now known as Alia Bhatt Kapoor. There is a source to prove it. [1] Kindly redirect this page to Alia Bhatt Kapoor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kolya75Media (talk • contribs) 20:06, 1 December 2024 (UTC)Reply
