Orphaned references in 2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of 2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "Forward":
- From 2014 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season: "NGM Mobile Forward Racing confirm Edwards and Espargaro". MotoGP.com. Dorna Sports. 9 November 2013. Retrieved 9 November 2013.
- From 2011 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season: "Moto2: per la stagione 2011 il Forward Racing si rinnova". BikeRacing (in Italian). Xavier Web S.r.l. 27 December 2010. Retrieved 27 December 2010.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 15:13, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
Requested move 29 October 2015
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: moved. Good arguments that with the post-2013 split a different naming practice is required. The suggestion to drop "Series" to bring the articles in line with their parents also makes good sense. Jenks24 (talk) 05:29, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- 2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season → 2015 MotoGP season
- 2015 Moto2 Series season → 2015 Moto2 season
- 2015 Moto3 Series season → 2015 Moto3 season
- 2014 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season → 2014 MotoGP season
- 2014 Moto2 Series season → 2014 Moto2 season
- 2014 Moto3 Series season → 2014 Moto3 season
- 2016 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season → 2016 MotoGP season
- 2016 Moto2 Series season → 2016 Moto2 season
- 2016 Moto3 Series season → 2016 Moto3 season
– Now that we have separate season articles for Moto2 and Moto3, I feel it make more sense to move the "2015 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season" page to "2015 MotoGP season". As the main article explains, Grand Prix motorcycle racing refers to all three categories combined, whereas this article is dedicated exclusively to the MotoGP world championship. Also, I think it's obvious that far more people looking for this article would search for "MotoGP" than the vague and incorrect "Grand Prix motorcycle racing".
Also, for the "2015 Moto2 Series season" article and the Moto3 counterpart, is there a reason for having "Series" in the title, as if the official name was "Moto2 Series"? As far as I can tell, both FIM and the MotoGP organization simply use Moto2™ and Moto3™ as the official names. Here are some good examples from motogp.com and from FIM's website. In particular, from the updated FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix Regulations, "Moto2" is used 141 times, yet "Moto2 Series" or "Moto2™ Series" are never mentioned. The same is true for Moto3. A quick Google search suggests that "Moto2 Series" and "Moto3 Series" (Series capitalized, not in the descriptive sense) are only used on Wikipedia and Wikipedia-related pages.
In summary, I suggest the articles should be moved to "2015 MotoGP season", "2015 Moto2 season", and "2015 Moto3 season", as these are the simplest and most correct titles, meaning they will be the ones people will be more likely to search for. After all, these titles are already used in the current MotoGP overview template. The move would also apply to the 2014 and 2016 articles. Oppose if you want to move that dated Grand Prix motorcycle racing season article then, surely to be consistant, you will have to move all the other dated articles too as listed in the template: Template:Grand Prix motorcycle racing. ww2censor (talk) 10:33, 30 October 2015 (UTC)
- This is incorrect. All articles preceding the 2014 season combine all world championship categories (MotoGP/Moto2/Moto3/500cc/250/125 etc.) in a single page, so it makes sense that they follow the all-encompassing "XXXX Grand Prix motorcycle racing season" title format. What doesn't make sense is keeping that title format even though the articles are split from the 2014 season. Do U(knome)? yes...or no 16:32, 31 October 2015 (UTC)
- Strong support. Since articles are split starting in 2014 the same vague title ("Grand Prix motorcycle racing season") cannot remain. The Moto2/3/GP naming is the simplest and most correct. Neodop (talk) 12:28, 10 November 2015 (UTC)

The article is not objective (too much opinions of the autor)

"Márquez intentionally hindering Rossi"
=> This is an opinion not a fact. The FIM sanctionned Rossi, not Márquez. Their is no demonstration that Márquez make it intentionally.

"At the final race, Lorenzo, helped by Márquez, who not only did not pass him but also prevented the faster Dani Pedrosa from attacking him"
=> This is also an opinion not a fact. Currently there is no demonstration that this opinion is true.

"Collusion Marc Marquez and Jorge Lorenzo for championship season ( in sepang and valencia)"
=> This is an opinion of the autor not a fact. The autor forget (off course), the fact that many drivers like Danilo Petrucci let pass intentionally Valentino Rossi in Valencia (and influence the championship) [1] [2]
