Shushtar County (Persian: شهرستان شوشتر) is in Khuzestan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Shushtar.[3]

History
editAfter the 2006 National Census, the village of Guriyeh rose to city status. In addition, the village of Shahrak-e Shahid Sharafat became the city of Sharafat.[4]
After the 2011 census, Miyan Ab and Miyan Ab-e Shomali Rural Districts were separated from the Central District in the establishment of Miyan Ab District,[5] and the village of Sardarabad was elevated to the status of the city of Sardaran.[6]

editAt the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 182,282 in 37,656 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 191,444 people in 45,360 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 192,028 in 50,878 households.[2]
