Scott C. Ratzan is a lecturer at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health & Health Policy.[1] He is also the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Health Communication. He is adjunct professor at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.[2] He is also adjunct clinical professor of public health and community medicine at the Tufts University School of Medicine.[3]

Education
editRatzan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in rhetoric from Occidental College. He has a Master of Arts in communication from Emerson College and a Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Keck School of Medicine of USC.[1]
Career
editFrom 1998 to 2000, Ratzan was executive director of the AED. From 2000 to 2002, he served as a senior technical advisor at the United States Agency for International DevelopmentBureau of Global Health.[citation needed]
Ratzan was vice president for pharmaceuticals and global health at Johnson & Johnson.[citation needed]
He is a member of the Board of Global Health of the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine.[4]
From 2010 to 2013, Ratzan was the co-chair of Every Woman Every Child, a working group established by the United Nations to advance public healthcare for women and children.[citation needed] Ratzan co-chairs the Council for Quality Health Communication.[5]
From 2018 to 2019, Ratzan was Senior Fellow in the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business & Government (M-RCBG) at Harvard Kennedy School. During his tenure at Harvard, he published Guiding Principles for Multisectoral Engagement for Sustainable Health. Ratzan was executive director of Business Partners for Sustainable Development, a group launched by United States Council for International Business to accelerate action on SDGs.[6] Ratzan is the executive director of Business Partners to CONVINCE, a USCIB initiative promoting vaccine acceptance globally.[7]
Ratzan assisted in the development of Text4Baby, a national health-related text messaging service for pregnant women.[8]
