Rasht County (Persian: شهرستان رشت) is in Gilan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Rasht.[3]

History

In 2009, the village of Luleman was elevated to the status of a city.[4] After the 2016 National Census, the village of Pir Bazar rose to city status.[5] In 2019, Khomam District was separated from the county in the establishment of Khomam County.[6]

At the time of the 2006 census, the county's population was 847,680 in 244,613 households.[7] The following census in 2011 counted 918,445 people in 293,448 households.[8] The 2016 census measured the population of the county as 956,971 in 321,703 households.[2]
