François Dubrulle (born 1967) is a French businessman[1] entrepreneur with a career, predominantly in the deep-tech and aerospace industries.

He is the founder and CEO of space-tech startup Qosmosys[2][3], a space technology company focused on lunar exploration and the development of technologies for space applications[4][5]. Prior to founding Qosmosys, Dubrulle worked in the deep-tech and aerospace sectors[6]. He has also theorized a framework for understanding business growth within organizations, emphasizing the importance of reforms to address conflicts of interest at all levels.
Early life and education
editDubrulle was born in 1967 near Paris to Maryse Freland and Michel Dubrulle. His family has origins in northern France with branches in the United Kingdom, Canada, and Belgium. He graduated in 1991 from ISAE-SUPAERO[7], an aerospace engineering school in Toulouse, France. He holds a master's degree in physics and an Executive MBA.
Professional career
editDubrulle began his career at Matra Marconi Space (now part of Airbus Defence & Space) [8]in the early 1990s, where he gained experience in aerospace engineering systems and the risks associated with developing complex technologies. He subsequently expanded his focus to integrate technical knowledge with strategic business modeling[6]. He has introduced several innovations in various sectors.[9]
In 2021, Dubrulle founded Qosmosys[4][10], which aims to develop sustainable lunar infrastructure and foster international collaboration in space exploration. Under his leadership, Qosmosys has becomepart of the global space industry, focusing on the ZeusX[11] spacecraft, designed for the lunar economy in partnership with Airbus Defence & Space
Dubrulle advocates a comprehensive overhaul of corporate governance, aiming to eradicate crony capitalism practices and create an environment which fosters both wealth generation and responsible risk-taking. He has voiced concerns about state intervention in private business, arguing that without solid counterparts, it leads to inefficiencies and stifle innovation.[12]
In 2024, Dubrulle was featured in a mini-series by Bloomberg Media, produced in collaboration with HSBC, titled “Turning Point”, which highlighted his contributions to the space industry.[12]
Dubrulle’s work is centered on integrating cutting-edge technological advancements and fostering collaborations across regions, including the United States, Europe, Asia, and the Arabian Peninsula. He advocates a sustainable approach to space exploration, emphasizing projects that benefit both the lunar economy and humanity. Dubrulle is critical of large-scale Moon mining projects, considering them speculative and impractical.[13]
Dubrulle supports international strategic alliances for the successful development of a robo-based economy. He also champions the concept of "useful space," leveraging space technology for applications that benefit life on Earth. Dubrulle considers lunar exploration and Earth-centric applications to be more immediate and impactful.

editIn 2024, Dubrulle received an innovation prize from the Moon Village Association[14], highlighting his work on advancing the lunar economy.
In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, he has been an active business angel, investing projects in software and hardware across several jurisdictions.
Personal life
editFrançois Dubrulle was previously married and is the father of three children. A self-taught scholar of political economy since 1997, he has been influenced by the Austrian School of Economics and the works of Murray Rothbard and Frédéric Bastiat.
His political views align with libertarianism, advocating for reformed and minimal yet efficient states in Western societies, emphasizing common decency as a guiding principle for human actions. He was a member of Démocratie Libérale, a French political party led by Alain Madelin, until 2002.
