History
editFlyErbil, the first Kurdish airline, was founded in 2015 by Mr. Laund Mamundy, who currently serves as the CEO, and Mr. Serkaft Zebari, the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Headquartered in Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq, the airline was established to provide greater connectivity between Kurdistan and international destinations, supporting the region’s economic growth and diaspora communities.
On 28 June 2018, FlyErbil commenced its first commercial flight from Erbil International Airport to Rotterdam The Hague Airport with a stopover at Kyiv International Airport (Zhuliany).[6] This inaugural flight marked a significant milestone for Kurdistan's aviation sector, symbolizing the airline’s role in linking the region to Europe.
In 2021, FlyErbil announced a strategic partnership with UR Airlines, enabling it to enhance its operational network and fleet capabilities. This collaboration allowed FlyErbil to expand routes to European, Middle Eastern, and regional destinations, strengthening its position in the market.
Today, FlyErbil operates flights to key destinations such as Stockholm, Amsterdam, Munich, Dubai, Antalya, and more, catering to the growing diaspora, business travelers, and tourism sectors.
With a vision to foster sustainable connectivity and economic development, FlyErbil continues to grow as a reliable and dynamic airline, reflecting its commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
